Lebrun, the defending division champion, continues his rise up the Seekonk Speedway all-time wins list. PJ Evans returned to the Seekonk podium in his second race in a row, finishing in second, while Devin Deshaies opened his points lead even further with a third-place finish. Finishing the top-five after 25 laps was Nicholaus Bulkeley and Reese Bogue. Jacob “Rowdy” Burns finished in sixth spot, followed by James Anderson in his Seekonk debut. SEEKONK, Mass. — For the second time in 2022, Mike Henriques rolled into Victory Lane in the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks on Friday night. Henriques used the outside lane to pass Ed Gould for the top spot in the second half of the race, then held off Sam Lincoln in the final circuits to take another win. Lincoln would finish second in the 25-lap race, while Gould was able to grab third — his best career run in the Pure Stocks. Nick Brightman followed up a victory the week before in fourth, followed by Mike Rotondo, who scored a top-five finish. Jared Cordeira finished sixth, followed by Greg Perry, Jordan Threlfall, Danny Massa and Matthew Talblot. Gomes had come close for many weeks, but finally was able to knock off his first win and was ecstatic in Victory Lane. Chase Silvia, who has six wins so far this season, capped off another podium run with a second-place effort. Mikey LeFort III also returned to the podium for a second straight week, finishing in the third spot. Dylan Calabro grabbed his career best finish in fourth and Adam “Hollywood” Harrison rounded out the top-five. SEEKONK, Mass. — Henry Lavallee rolled to Victory Lane for the first time in many, many years in the Everett’s Auto Parts Sport 4’s on Friday night at Seekonk Speedway. Lavallee jumped to the lead quickly from the pole position and led the entire 25-lap race, holding off Crystal Murray in the final laps to take the win. Lavallee had won in the Sport 4 division years ago, closer to the inception of the class, but this time, he was happy to finally hold the checkered flag again. Murray finished second, continuing her streak of podium runs in most events in 2022, while Tyler Duhancik finished in third spot. Daniel Hayes and Jarrod Freitas completed the top-five. Justin Leduc finished sixth, followed by DJ Thibeault, Taylor Bowser, Jacob Budznya and Rob Gajdowski. SEEKONK, Mass. — For the second time in 2022, Ryan Vanasse Jr. climbed out of the No. 11 in Victory Lane at Seekonk Speedway on Friday night. Vanasse used a mid-race move to take the top spot and never looked back in the 15-lap Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandit feature, winning again in impressive fashion. Vanasse is one of only a few winners in the youth racing division this season and has been inside the top-five many times over the course of the first three months. Parker Davis captured his best career Seekonk Speedway finish with a second-place effort, while Rodney Dowles rolled to the podium, coming off a win the week before with a third-place finish. Collin Vanasse and Milania Shilosky rounded out the top-five after 15 laps. Sam Macedo finished in sixth spot, followed by Allyha DeSomma, Bryson Robidoux, Nick Uhrig Jr. and Isaiah Anderson. Tessier Captures $2,000 Prize in NLR Summer Showdown 35; Bowie Dominates in PASS Modifieds 40 SEEKONK, Mass. — Ryan Kuhn waited a long time for his first Pro Stock win, but it happened in one of the biggest races of the season. Kuhn, a former Seekonk Speedway Late Model champion, captured the $10,000 winning prize in the second annual Bay State Classic at Seekonk Speedway on Wednesday — besting Dave Darling and Jake Johnson — two more homegrown Seekonk competitors — to win the prize in the 150-lap race. Kuhn started from the pole position, but the chase to Victory Lane wasn’t easy for the Massachusetts racer. Kuhn had to hold off the challenges of Darling, the defending and eight-time track champion, over the course of nearly the whole race. On a restart with just under 40 laps to go, Darling passed Kuhn for the top spot when Kuhn’s shifter locked up, but Kuhn wasn’t going to be denied. He caught Darling, slid to the inside, and passed him for the lead, driving away in the final laps to the win. Darling would settle for second, while Johnson charged through the field in the final laps, passing DJ Shaw late, to finish in third. Kuhn extended his PASS North championship lead with the win, and made the Seekonk hometown faithful proud, along with the rest of the top three. In the Nick Lascuola Racing Summer Showdown 35 for the Legends Cars, Mason Tessier scored his third Seekonk win of the season, but this one was for $2,000. Tessier jumped out front from pole position and ran the duration of the race essentially unchallenged by his competition. Behind him, Devin Deshaies finished in the runner-up spot after 35 laps and Josh Parsons competed the podium. Zach Bowie dominated the 40-lap PASS Modified feature, taking the top spot on lap eight and never looking back in the clean and green event. Behind him, Dan Brown finished in the second spot and Garrett Lamb finished in third. Ryan Ripley, who won the inaugural PASS Modified visit to Seekonk in 2021, finished 10th after moving his way up to fourth before a late-race caution. Seekonk Speedway will return to action on Friday, July 29 for Fast Friday, and Saturday, July 30 for the Midsummer Thrill Show. Tickets for both events, and all remaining 2022 events, are available today at SeekonkSpeedway.com. By Souza Media SEEKONK, Mass. — As Seekonk Speedway hits the end of July, summer is heating up in a big way this weekend, with two nights of racing set for July 29 and 30. Fast Friday continues their season on July 29, heading straight for the inaugural Drive For The Cup presented by Sunoco Race Fuel. On Saturday, the annual Midsummer Thrill Show takes place, headlined by the Great American Trailer Race and much more. With just five weeks to go before the playoff field is set on Fast Friday, drivers hovering around the bubble spot need to pick up their game if they want to contend for the 2022 championship. In the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits and Outlaws, only six drivers will make the playoffs, while in the Everett’s Auto Parts Sport 4’s, Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks and Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars, eight drivers will advance. As they run in the Bandits, the race for sixth is tight, as Bryson Robidoux leads Nick Uhrig Jr. by 10 points. Robidoux has been dealing with a recent string of bad luck, while Uhrig missed one race earlier in the season due to a medical issue. Up front, Darren Krantz, who had a tire fall off his car while leading last week, leads the standings over Milania Shilosky. Look for Sam Macedo and Collin Vanasse to try and get back on the podium this week for the second straight week in their 15-lap feature on Friday night. In the Outlaws, Chase Silvia has been the dominant force, winning six of the eight races and finishing on the podium in the other two. However — the battle for the sixth and final playoff spot is one of the tightest in all of Seekonk’s divisions. Mikey LeFort III sits fifth, just 8 points up on the bubble, while coming off his first career win, Bradley Strickland currently holds the sixth and final spot. Adam “Hollywood” Harrison is just 8 points back in seventh. As the season hits the final stretch, it looks like it will be a three-man race for two spots in this division. In the Everett’s Auto Parts Sport 4’s, the top-six drivers have separated themselves — essentially locking Crystal Murray, Tyler Duhancik, Karlin Levesque, Jarrod Freitas and Taylor Bowser into the playoffs. Behind them, Stephanie Bruneau leads Christine Cavallaro by just six points, with Daniel Hayes only eight points back of the final playoff spot. All three drivers have balanced finishes around the top-10 and it looks like it’s going to go down to the wire to decide who makes it into the playoffs. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks is a similar story. Danny Massa, Sam Lincoln, Greg Perry, Jeremy Lambert, Jordan Threlfall and Mike Henriques are far ahead of their competitors, and a few decent weeks will lock them in. In seventh, Mike Rotondo is just 14 ahead of the final spot, while one-time season winner Ethan Souza currently holds the final position. Behind him, Jared Cordeira is just six points back, while Timmy Ouellette is just 12 points behind. The race is tight in one of Seekonk’s most competitive divisions. The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars is a similar story. Josh Parsons currently holds the final playoff spots, two points up on Jake Silvia. With seventh place Brendan LaBelle just 22 points ahead of Parsons, these three drivers are going to battle between themselves along with Richie Helger Jr., who finishes the top-10 in the current points, just 20 points from the playoffs. All five Fast Friday divisions are back in action this Friday, July 29, at 7 p.m. On Saturday, the Midsummer Thrill Show takes the green flag at 5 p.m., with one of the busiest Thrill Shows of the year scheduled. The Great American Trailer Race headlines this action-packed night which also includes the Troy City Tactical Spectator Drags, Figure 8 Races, Enduro Races, Enduro Drags, Powder Puff Races and more. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets to this event in advance. Tickets for all 2022 remaining Seekonk Speedway events are available online at SeekonkSpeedway.com. The most recent Thrill Show, the Independence Day main event, was sold out. Tickets will be available at the track for all events as long as they are still available. SEEKONK, Mass. — Mike Brightman held off a hard-charging Tom Scully Jr. to take down his second Pro Stock victory of the season at Seekonk Speedway on Saturday. Brightman started in the middle of the pack and quickly worked his way to the front, passing Tyler Tomassi for the lead at the halfway point and holding off Scully over the final 10 laps to take the win. Brightman has the setup figured out this season and has been among the dominant forces in the division. The third victory of the year continues to give him confidence going forward. Scully would finish second, while Tomassi crossed the stripe third on the track, but didn’t pass post-race inspection. Dave Darling finished fourth, inheriting third. The Pro Stocks will return to the track on Saturday, August 6 for a 60-lap feature in the final round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown. SEEKONK, Mass. — Scott Serydynski Jr. is following in the footsteps of his father at Seekonk Speedway. In the record books, Serydynski won the 25-lap Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment feature on Saturday. He may have crossed the line second at the finish, but when Randy Moretti didn’t pass post-race inspection, Serydynski earned the win he deserved. He led the first 24 laps, before Moretti made the move to take the win before inspection. In the final results, Serydynski picked up the win over Ed Perry, Craig Pianka and Chad Baxter. Steve Axon would finish the top-five. Ryan Lineham finished sixth, followed by Doug Benoit, Jimmy Silvia, Colby Lambert and Adam Giacomozzi. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman will return to the track on Saturday, August 6 for a 35-lap feature in the final round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown. SEEKONK, Mass. — After weeks of coming so close, Amy Arsenault rocketed to her first Chaz Auto Body Sport Truck win of the season on Saturday night at Seekonk Speedway. Arsenault jumped out front from the outside pole position in the 25 lap feature and led the entire distance - taking her first win or the year in dominating fashion. The victory wasn’t her first career, but it was certainly an impressive one. Behind Arsenault, who stretched out a large lead, Rick Martin finished second, coming up one spot short of his fourth win of the season. Barry Shaw Jr. returned to the podium in his No. 85 finishing in third, while Jake Vanada & Mike Duarte completed the top-five. Darryl Church finished sixth, followed by Gil Bradstreet, Tom Scully III, Brittany Campbell and Danny Thibeault. The Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks will return to the track on Saturday, August 6 for a 35-lap feature in the final round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown.
