SEEKONK, Mass. — It’s hard to believe the month of August is already here. Seekonk Speedway returns to racing on Friday, August 2 and Saturday, August 3, with Fast Friday and the annual Midsummer Thrill Show at the Action Track of the East. On Friday night, the Fast Friday divisions return with five classes on the track beginning at 7 p.m. On Saturday, the thrills and spills of action returns to the third-mile, headlined by the Great American Trailer Race. Saturday’s Thrill Show goes green at 5 p.m. On top of the Great American Trailer Race, one of the most exciting events of the year, the East Coast Towing Spectator Drags, Crazy Figure 8 Races, Car & Truck Enduro Races, Car & Truck Enduro Drags and Powder Puff races will all hit the track. Race fans won’t want to miss the final Thrill Show before Labor Day, beginning at 5 p.m. Tickets are available in advance online at SeekonkSpeedway.com and will also be available at the gate on race day for this family-friendly event. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits and Outlaws will return to the track on Friday, showcasing the youth racing of the Action Track of the East. The Bandit field includes some of the top racing at the Speedway, with rising stars David Bernier, Mason Silva and Luka Dib all running for the podium weekly. Names like Ayla Martin, Carl Satterlund Jr. and Jase Chaber will all be looking to join those three as feature winners this Friday night. Those six drivers are comfortably in the playoff battle. In the Outlaws, Bryson Robidoux added his second win of the season last week. Although he is definitely hitting his summer stride, Brody Wakefield, Parker Davis, Nick Uhrig Jr. and others aren’t far behind. Drivers in both Bandolero divisions return to the track Friday night for 15 lap feature events. The Sport 4 division saw two-time and defending champion Crystal Murray add a second win to her season last week. With just four races to go before the field is set for the Sunoco Drive For The Cup, the top-six drivers seem to be comfortable in their chase for the crown. Matt Pion enters the week ahead in the championship standings with Richie Johnson, Justin Leduc, Tyler Duhancik, Murray and Taylor Bowser following behind. Will this week see someone else jump into the bunch? The final laps were a family affair in the Helger’s Pure Stocks last week, with Greg Perry holding off Brent Robidoux for the feature win, getting back to Victory lane for the first time this season. The former champion pushed his way into fifth in the standings, comfortably in a playoff spot as of now. Up at the top, Mike Henriques leads Jared Robidoux, Cordeira, Souza, Perry and Bobby Bettencourt III in the title battle. Names like Danny Massa, Matt Talbot, Tim Ouellette and others will look for a strong run in Friday’s 25 lap feature, trying to push their way up the battle and carry the checkered flag. Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars racing has been exciting all year. The consistency of Richie Helger Jr., Jacob Burns and Josh Parsons sees those three drivers at the top. But young stars Chase Silvia and Brenden LaBelle aren’t far behind. Silvia added his first career win a few weeks ago, while LaBelle has been consistently near the front. Will one of these names win Friday’s 25-lap feature, or can someone like Mason Tessier, Kevin Davis, Rodney Dowless or others jump to the front? Tickets for Fast Friday are just $10 for adults and kids 12 and under are free. Tickets for the Midsummer Thrill Show are $25 for adults in advance of the event, $12 for youth 6-12 and kids 5 and under free. The ticket prices at the gate the day of the event are $28 for adults, $15 for youth 6-12 and kids five and under remain free. Parking is always free at Seekonk Speedway. SEEKONK, Mass. — The Sunoco Drive For The Cup at Seekonk Speedway is just over one month away. With just four Fast Friday races left before the cutoff for the playoff field to be set, drivers will make one last effort during the month of August to push their way in. Those who are inside are looking to hold on tight to be able to contend for the track championship in 2024. Each division will have six drivers advancing into the playoffs. In the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits, the field is mostly already set. David Bernier, Mason Silva and Luka Dib are all within eight points of each other. All three of them are winners this year, and the only winners in the division. Ayla Martin is fourth, with Jase Chaber in fifth and Carl Satterlund Jr. sixth. Satterlund holds a lead of over 100 points for the final spot, and Kennedy Burrows, who is seventh, doesn’t run full-time. Look for the six drivers currently in to contend for the championship in the Bandits. In the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws, the gap between six and seventh couldn’t be closer. Up at the top, Bryson Robdioux, Brody Wakeifled, Parker Davis and Nick Uhrig Jr. are rather comfortable. Uhrig is 38 points up on sixth, while Ryder Aguiar in 5th is 28 points up himself. Holding the final spot is Zacarias Kelley, currently just two points ahead of Mike Hanafin. Behind Hanafin, Allah DeSomma is just four points back. Zachary Keith in ninth is only 14 behind. With all of these drivers pushing for just a few spots, the battle is going to go right down to the final laps. Racing in the Sport 4 division this season has been tight. Matt Pion leads by a comfortable 34 points over Richie Johnson, with Justin Leduc and Tyler Duhancik tied for third and fourth. Holding the fifth spot is two-time defending champion Crystal Murray, and she is 20 points ahead of the cutline. Taylor Bowser holds the final playoff spot, with a 30-point lead over Henry Lavallee. With the way the season has shaken out so far, Bowser and the crew above her seem comfortable heading for the final four weeks. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stock battle is also tight at the cutline. Bobby Bettencourt III, 18 points behind fifth-place Greg Perry, holds the final spot right now. He leads over Danny Massa by 10 points, with Matt Talbot, who missed last week, just 16 points behind. Tim Ouellette in the ninth spot is only 30 points behind. The Pure Stock race is another one that will likely go right down to the final laps to decide it. Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars racing in 2024 has been as competitive as ever before. Right now, Richie Helger Jr., Jacob Burns and Josh Parsons hold the top-three spots in the points, separated by just 20 points. Brenden LaBelle in fourth, Chase Silvia in fifth and Mason Tessier currently hold the final three playoff spots. Tessier leads Rodney Dowless Jr. by 42 points for the final spot. Like the Sport 4 division, the Legends Cars race is likely to be decided as long as nothing major happens. Fast Friday returns with all five divisions on Friday, August 2. Racing begins at 7PM. SEEKONK, Mass. — All nine Seekonk Speedway divisions have now set the Final Four in the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series championship battles. Everett’s Triple Crown weekend will take place on Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10 at the Action Track of the East. On that weekend, the Finals of the Triple Crown will take place for all divisions. Every division except the Bandolero classes will have extra laps. The winner of the Triple Crown championship for 2024 will be the highest finishing driver of the four eligible in that specific feature event. In the Pro Stocks, defending Triple Crown champion Bobby Pelland III advanced into the finals, winning the June 15 Triple Crown race. The other three spots were filled by points accumulated in the two Triple Crown races so far. Vinnie Arrenegado, a Rookie of the Year contender, will join Pelland. They will both have to contend with two-time and defending division champion Mark Jenison and Dylan Estrella. Three of these drivers have Pro Stock feature wins to their credit: Pelland, Jenison and Estrella. Will Arrenegado use the Triple Crown 60-lap finale to score his first win? Can Pelland make it two straight Triple Crown titles? Will one of the other two rocket to victory? Will it take winning the race to win the Triple Crown? All questions to be answered on August 10. PRO STOCK FINALISTS: Bobby Pelland III, Vinnie Arrenegado, Dylan Estrella, Mark Jenison The Late Model Triple Crown finale is made up of two Triple Crown winners and two points contenders. Jacob Burns won the first Triple Crown race on June 1, while Pelland won the second on June 15. Pelland will contend for both the Pro Stock and Late Model Triple Crown title in the same night. These two will be joined by Luke Lebrun and Connor Souza to contend for the crown. David Darling accumulated enough points to advance to the Finals, but it is not eligible. Seekonk Speedway requires competitors to compete in three regular season races plus the Triple Crown events to be eligible to make the Finals. The Late Model battle between Burns, Pelland, Lebrun and Souza will go right down to the final laps of the 45-lap event. LATE MODEL FINALISTS: Jacob Burns, Bobby Pelland III, Luke Lebrun, Connor Souza Helger’s Sportsman drivers in the Everett’s Triple Crown Finals include Adam Pettey, Colby Lambert, Joe Kohler and Jeremy Lambert. Pettey won both of the first two Triple Crown events, while C. Lambert, Kohler and J. Lambert all entered the Finals with points. The Lambert family will be well-represented, with a 50% chance of capturing the crown on August 10. They are joined by Pettey, who has been quite dominant at times so far this season, showcasing that in the first two Triple Crown events. Kohler, driving for McKenzie Stevenson, has been consistently charging through the field when he has been in competition. The 35-lap Triple Crown Finale for the Sportsman is sure to be exciting. SPORTSMAN FINALISTS: Adam Pettey, Colby Lambert, Joe Kohler, Jeremy Lambert Rick Martin, Tim Bolger Jr., Mike Duarte and Amy Arsenault make up the Everett’s Triple Crown Final Four in the Chaz’s Auto Body Sport Trucks. Martin and Bolger advanced with feature wins in Triple Crown action, while Duarte and Arsenault advanced by points. Duarte has been consistent all year, leading the overall division point standings to this point, but hasn’t yet won. Martin, the two-time and defending division champion, will look to add the Everett’s Triple Crown to his historic track resume. Bolger has been consistent as well, with two wins, while Arsenault will look to use the 35-lap finale to pounce. Who will capture the Everett’s Triple Crown in the Trucks? SPORT TRUCK FINALISTS: Rick Martin, Tim Bolger Jr., Mike Duarte, Amy Arsenault On Fast Friday, the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars field is set with two winners and two points contenders. Josh Parsons and Chase Silvia won the two Triple Crown events so far to advance to the Finals, while Jacob Burns and Richie Helger Jr. also earned spots. This pins two drivers from Nick Lascuola Racing (Parsons, Burns) up against two from Richie Helger Racing (Helger, Silvia). All four of these drivers have been quick all season and all use the Triple Crown as one of their goals entering the season. Who captures the crown in the 30-lap feature on August 9?
LEGENDS CARS FINALISTS: Josh Parsons, Chase Silvia, Jacob Burns, Richie Helger Jr. Pure Stock competition will be exciting in the Triple Crown finale on August 9, set for 30 laps. Contending for the Everett’s title will be Jared Cordeira, Ethan Souza, Danny Massa and Mike Henriques. Souza and Massa advanced to the finals with wins in the first two Triple Crown events of the season, while Cordeira and Henriques earned their spots on points. All four contends have been quick this season. Of a possible 100 points between the first two races, all four drivers earned at least 90. This one should go right down to the final laps. Will it take a victory in the race to score the Triple Crown title? PURE STOCK FINALISTS: Jared Cordeira, Ethan Souza, Mike Henriques, Danny Massa The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandit Everett’s Triple Crown Final Four includes Luka Dib, David Bernier, Mason Silva and Jase Chaber. Dib and Bernier have both won Triple Crown events already this season to advance to the Finals. In total, these four drivers have been inside the top-five in general in nearly all Bandolero Bandit events in 2024. They have all earned their spots in the Finals. Which one of the four carries the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series title after 15 laps on August 9? BANDOLERO BANDIT FINALISTS: Luka Dib, David Bernier, Mason Silva, Jase Chaber Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaw Triple Crown finalists include Bryson Robidoux, Parker Davis, Ryder Aguiar and Brody Wakefield. It was Robidoux and Wakefield who won both of the first two events to lock themselves in, while Davis and Aguiar earned their spots on points. It’s been Robidoux and Wakefield who have been consistently inside the podium this season, as the summer stretch is underway. Davis and Aguiar may have been quiet at times, but they made the finals and will look to pounce. Who captures the Everett’s crown in their 15-lap feature? BANDOLERO OUTLAW FINALISTS: Brody Wakefield, Bryson Robidoux, Parker Davis, Ryder Aguiar The Everett’s Triple Crown Final Four in the Sport 4 division includes winners Justin Leduc and Matt Pion along with Tyler Duhancik and Richie Johnson. Johnson may not have won yet, but the finale of the Triple Crown would be the perfect time to pounce. Which one of the four hoists the Everett’s Triple Crown title on August 9 after 30 laps? SEEKONK, Mass. — Pro All Star Series veteran DJ Shaw found himself dominating the second half of Saturday’s 150-lap event at Seekonk Speedway. Shaw rode behind David Darling early in the Bay State Summer Classic event, but a restart gave him the opportunity he needed to get out front. Shaw used the outside groove to rocket to the top spot and literally drive away from the rest of the field to score the big win. The $5,000 top prize came with him defeating Eddie MacDonald and Darling in the race. Ryan Kuhn, a former Seekonk Late Model champion, finished fourth, while Craig Weinstein rounded out the top-five. Johnny Clark, Joey Doiron, Dylan Estrella, Angelo Belsito and Dennis Spencer rounded out the top-10.
