Belcher used a few smooth moves in the beginning of the 30-lap feature and held off Mark Jension to score the win. By the halfway point, Belcher was inside the top three and racing Jeramme Lillie for the lead. He passed for the top spot on lap 20 and would never look back en route to the win. Jenison crossed the line second, while Paul Lallier, a former season winner, finished the podium in third. Richie Murray used a late move to grab himself a fourth-place finish while Lillie rounded out the top-five. ![]() SEEKONK, Mass. — With $10,000 on the line, the second annual Bay State Classic at Seekonk Speedway on Wednesday, July 27, is sure to draw the best of the best of the best to the third-mile. The Pro All Star Series is rolling into Massachusetts for the second time this year, and with all of the money on the line to the winner, this one is going to be one fans will not want to miss. The Wednesday special will be the second of three mid-week events Seekonk Speedway will host during the 2022 season. Johnny Clark leads the series into Seekonk coming off a victory in June, where he beat Eddie MacDonald and Angelo Belsito in the final laps to take the win. In his last few stops at Seekonk Speedway, Clark has been nearly unbeatable behind the wheel of the No. 54 — posting some of the fastest laps and holding the trophy when it mattered most. Belsito was close in June, leading early, going to the rear, then racing back through the pack to finish second. Will this mid-week showdown be another battle between the two of them? Additional invaders from PASS include NASCAR Xfinity Series part-time driver Derek Griffith, a former Seekonk winner, MacDonald, DJ Shaw, Joey Pole and Gabe Brown, among others. More than a handful of former Seekonk Speedway track champions are also entered in the race looking to defend the home turf. Eighth-time track Pro Stock champion Dave Darling leads the list, along with Ryan Kuhn, Belsito, Kevin Casper, Vinnie Arrenegado Jr., Dylan Estrella, Jake Johnson, Jake Matheson, Ryan Vanasse and Bobby Pelland III. All of these drivers have proven to be the dominant force in one or more Seekonk divisions before — but can they beat the rest of the pack and win $10,000? Additional entries for the race include names like Brandon Barker, Ben Ashline, Gabe Brown, Tyler Tomassi, Dan Winter, Kevin Folan and more. The 150-lap main event will be a true test of tire conservation and who can step on the throttle the most in the final laps to chase the $10,000 prize. Don’t miss it. It’s the annual stop for PASS at Seekonk and the annual mix between Seekonk’s top Pro Stock stars and some of the best in New England. The PASS Modifieds will also invade Seekonk on Wednesday for their second ever appearance at the third-mile. Last year, Ryan Ripley beat Max Cookson and JR Baril to the line at the finish of their 50-lap feature. This competitive division that runs all over New England will be heading to Massachusetts looking to thrill the race fans. Also on the card, the Nick Lascoula Racing Summer Showdown will see drivers race for a $2,000 prize in 35 laps. In the longest Legends Cars race of the season at Seekonk, the purse for this event, which rises over $5,000, is the top Legends Cars purse in New England to date in 2022. The race will see some of Seekonk’s top Legends Cars drivers including Isaiah Newcomb, Devin Deshaies, Reese Bogue, Mason Tessier and others battle it out against some potential invaders for the big prize. Will a $2,000 to win race mark one of the top events of the year for the Fast Friday class in a non-points show? Race day begins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27. The Pro All Star Series, $10,000 to win Bay State Classic will wrap a full night of racing. For those who can’t make it to the track on race night, the event will air live on FloRacing.TV. All tickets for the event, including pit passes, are available online now at SeekonkSpeedway.com. Fans can purchase passes in advance and skip the lines on race day. Newcomb quickly worked his way to the front during the 25-lap feature and held off the best of the best behind him to take down his first career win. While Newcomb raced to the win, the story was the battle behind him. In some of the closest Legends Cars racing the track has seen in 2022, Devin Deshaies and Mason Tessier ended the race in a tie based on their transponders. Behind them, Nicholaus Bulkeley and Jacob “Rowdy” Burns finished the top-five. Brendon Hammann, Reese Bogue, Jake Silvia, Josh Parsons and Brandon Tiezzi finished the top-10. The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars will return to the track on Friday, July 29, for another 25-lap feature. Nick Brightman captured his first career win in the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks, holding off the best of the division over the final laps to score the impressive victory. Brightman led the whole race — 25 laps — but it wasn’t easy. He had multiple drivers hounding the back bumper, trying to find a way around, but they weren’t able to do it on this night. Driving the No. 5, he celebrated for the first time. Greg Perry, a two-time champion, finished second, while Danny Massa followed in third. Jordan Threlfall and Sam Lincoln completed the top-five spots. Timmy Ouellette was sixth, followed by Mike Henriques, Jared Cordeira, Ethan Souza and Ed Gould. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks will return to the track on Friday, July 29, for another 25-lap feature. While Levesque won, Gajdowski scored a career best second-place finish, an impressive run, while Crystal Murray worked her way to the front late and finished in third spot. Tyler Duhancik finished in fourth, while Jarrod Freitas followed in fifth. Henry Lavallee returned to the front and finished in sixth, while Sam Mattera, Taylor Bowser, Daniel Hayes and DJ Thibeault rounded out the top-10 at the end of the race. Dowles took advantage of mid-race trouble for Darren Krantz Jr to take the lead, then held off some of the best in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits to take down the impressive victory. While Dowless won, the night marked a strong run for Collin Vanasse, who led laps, and scored a career best second-place finish after 15 laps. Sam Macedo rocketed to a third-place finish, returning to the podium, while Milania Shilosky and Nick Uhrig Jr. completed the top-five spots. Brody Wakefield was sixth, followed by Allyha DeSomma, Parker Davis, Darren Krantz Jr and Bryson Robidoux. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits will return to the track on Friday, July 29, for another 15-lap feature. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest updates. ![]() SEEKONK, Mass. -- On Friday night at Seekonk Speedway, it was a special night in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws. Bradley Strickland wheeled to his first career win in the 15-lap feature driving the No. 84, on the same anniversary night of his father, who more than a decade ago, suffered an injury in the military and nearly lost his life. Victory Lane was emotional for many reasons — but for Strickland — it was a proud moment after capturing his first career win and celebrating with his family. Chase Silvia grabbed the second spot at the end of the race, posting another strong run, as the driver of the No. 17 now has victories in six of eight races and has finished on the podium in all of them. Mikey LeFort III scored his own podium, finishing in third, while Andrew Gomes and Adam Harrison completed the top-five. Brent Robidoux was sixth, followed by Jordan Duquette, Leo Rossi, Joey LeMay, Nathan Rioux and Bobby Bettencourt III. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws will return to the track on Friday, July 29, for another 15-lap feature. RACE TO THE PLAYOFFS HEATS UP WITH FAST FRIDAY, NASCAR SATURDAY AT SEEKONK SPEEDWAY THIS WEEKEND7/19/2022 ![]() SEEKONK, Mass. — As the race for the Seekonk Speedway Drive For The Cup inches closer, the Action Track of the East will return to racing this weekend, Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23. The weekend will include both Fast Friday and NASCAR Saturday racing, including the annual Rhode Island Shriners night with the clowns and the trike races on Saturday night. On NASCAR Saturday, Dave Darling edged Mike Brightman in the late laps of the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series last week, and will look to make it two in a row this Saturday night. Darling hadn’t won in over 300 days, but quickly put that to rest, while Brightman already has two wins on the season. It’s been quite the run of tough luck for Ryan Vanasse, but expect him to be a major contender during the 40-lap race this week. The Late Model division continues to impress, and they will be back this week with their own 30-lap feature. Seven-time track champion Gerry DeGasparre Jr. picked up his second win of the season last week from the middle of the pack, while Luke Lebrun and Mark Jenison joined him on the podium. Jenison and Lebrun haven’t won yet, and should be looked at as major contenders going into this week. Can Vinnie Arrenegado turn his efforts around this week? Will Richie Murray or Chase Belcher grab their second wins of the year? In the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman, Chad Baxter has returned too domination. With three straight wins, the defending champion is rolling through the pack like putting butter on bread. But will Craig Pianka get back to Victory Lane this week for the fourth time? Can someone like Doug Benoit or Tyler Almeida win their first race in the Sportsman? Will it be another contender out front after 25 laps? The Chaz Auto Body Sport Truck season has been filled with wildness, and after Rick Martin’s third win last week, it’s anyone’s game going into their 25-lap race this Saturday night. Names like Brittany Campbell, Barry Shaw Jr., Mike Cavallaro and Mike Duarte have already been to Victory Lane this year. Can Darryl Church or Amy Arsenault get their first wins of the year ? What about Jake Vanada? Saturday also includes the annual appearance by the Rhode Island Shriners clowns and the Trike Races. On Fast Friday, the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero divisions roar back to racing, both in the Bandits and the Outlaws. In the Bandits, only three different drivers have been to Victory Lane, with Darren Krantz Jr. returning to winning form last week, and Milania Shilosky and Ryan Vanasse Jr. also grabbing wins. Heading into this week, will a fourth driver add their name to the list? In the Outlaws, Chase Silvia has wins in six out of seven races, and although it may sound crazy to say, most of the other competitors have been close behind him. Andrew Gomes, Bradley Strickland and others have been in position, just haven’t been able to seal the deal. Look out for Adam “Hollywood” Harrison to break into Victory Lane before long as well. Your Everett’s Auto Parts Sport 4 field has been filled with a diverse group of winners, opened by points leader Crystal Murray winning the first two races. Additional winners include Karlin Levesque, Jarrod Freitas, AJ Manuel and last week’s checkered flag holder Tyler Duhancik. Can Taylor Bowser boost from her podium finish last week into the winner’s circle this time around in their 25-lap feature? The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars field has been chasing Mason Tessier the last two weeks. Driving for Helger’s Racing, Tessier got off to a rough start in 2022, but in his words, “made a statement” last week grabbing his second straight. Can Devin Deshaies or Brendon Hammann return to their winning ways this week or will someone else capture the flag? Can Tessier do it for a third week in a row? In the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks, the field is wide open to get to Victory Lane. Ethan Souza scored his first win of the season last week, but Greg Perry, Mike Henriques, Danny Massa and others have also been to the winner’s circle. Will we see a repeat winner in their 25-lap feature or will someone new get to the top this week? Fast Friday racing begins at 7 p.m., while NASCAR Saturday takes the green flag at 6 p.m. Seekonk Speedway tickets for the 2022 are available online at SeekonkSpeedway.com today. Fans can purchase tickets ahead and skip the lines on race day, including for pit passes. Upcoming major events include the second annual Bay State Classic on Wednesday, July 27, headlined by the Pro All Star Series 150-lap, $10,000 to win race. The event will also include the $2,000 to win Nick Lascuola Racing Summer Showdown set for 35 laps and the PASS Modifieds.
