SEEKONK, Mass. — Mark Jenison picked up the feature win in the finale of the Pro Stock season on Saturday night, capturing the 2023 track title in the process. Driving the No. 22, the title was the second straight for Jenison in Seekonk’s top division. While Jenison won the race, Bobby Pelland III finished second in the feature, and also sealed the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Division I State championship for Massachusetts. Tom Scully Jr finished third, while Dick Benoit and Mike Brightman followed in fourth and fifth. Darryl Stampfl, Rick Martin, Charlie Rose, Mike Rotondo and Mike Mitchell rounded out the top-10. Scully and Brightman were also racing for the title, in the final four with Jenison and Pelland. The season is now complete for the Pro Stocks. SEEKONK, Mass. — Chad Baxter dominated the finale of the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman season on Saturday night at Seekonk Speedway. In a 35-lap season-finale that went without a caution flag, Baxter got to the front quickly, passing Nick Wood for the lead on lap eight, and never looking back. Baxter’s feature win also came with Steve Axon finishing second and winning the 2023 Sportsman championship. Axon had a season filled with ups and downs, but when it mattered most, he was there. Axon’s second track championship comes in 2023 for the driver of the No. 04 - 13 years after his first title in 2010. Ryan Lineham finished third, also part of the Final Four on Saturday. Chris Gomes and Nick Wood followed in fourth and fifth. Craig Pianka (Final Four), Colby Lambert, Adam Pettey (Final Four), Eric Schwegal and Chris Rioux finished off the top-10 spots. SEEKONK, Mass. — The finale of the Late Model season came right down to the final laps at Seekonk Speedway on Saturday night. And in the end, it was Connor Souza capturing his second win of the season to finish the year, and Vinnie Arrenegado scoring his second track championship. Connor jumped out front quickly and led all 45 laps in the feature. But it wasn’t easy in the final few laps, with Arrenegado and Mark Jenison right on his tail, battling for the championship between them. Arrenegado ended up on top of Jenison for the title, and was right to the inside of Souza as the two made a little bit of contact coming to the finish line battling hard for the win. Souza won, with Arrenegado capturing a second Late Model title. The driver of the No. 17 went to Victory Lane multiple times this year and sealed the season with the title. Jenison finished third, one spot short, while the two other Final Four drivers, Charlie Rose and Jacob Burns, finished fourth and fifth. The season is now complete for the Late Models. SEEKONK, Mass. — Mike Duarte may not have been in the Final Four in the Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks, but he made sure to end his season on top. Duarte dominated the season-finale 35-lap feature to roll to another victory in the No. 50 on Saturday night. Duarte dominated most of the race, driving away from the competition and holding them off on a late restart to lock up the win. Darryl Church finished in second in the feature, while Rick Martin rounded out the podium and rolled to another Seekonk Speedway championship. For the second straight year, Martin won races and captured the title in the No. 14. His legacy continues to grow, now with another title to go along with it. Mike Cavallaro finished fourth and Jake Vanada finished fifth. Vanada, who won multiple races himself this year, came home second in the title battle. Brittany Campbell and Amy Arsenault also advanced to the Final Four, finishing sixth and eighth in the feature, respectively. The season is now complete for the Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks. SEEKONK, Mass. — In the finale of the Fast Friday season, it was NASCAR Saturday and INEX Legends Cars drivers racing in Pure Stocks. The “WTF” Pure Stock special, sponsored by Spring Villa Memory Care, was another one to remember. And after 25 laps, it came right down to the final laps, with two Late Model regulars battling it out and a former Pro Stock champion trying to chase them down. After Jared Cordeira won the championship in the Pure Stocks earlier in the night, Charlie Rose Jr. drove his No. 20 to Victory Lane in the WTF special event. Gerry DeGasparre Jr., a seven-time Late Model champion, finished second, right on his bumper. Fred Astle Jr. returned to competition behind the wheel in the No. 30 normally driven by Ethan Souza, and finished in third. Kaleb Marcou and Dick Benoit finished fourth and fifth. Behind them, Rob Murphy, Doug Benoit, Jacob Burns, Dane Saritelli and Richie Helger Jr. finished the top-10 in the special event. Isaiah Newcomb, Richie Helger Jr and Nicholas Bulkeley — all joining Burns in the Final Four to race for the title on Friday — finished third, fourth and fifth. Cordeira added his name to the list of Seekonk Speedway champions by winning the season-finale in the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks and becoming the 2023 champion in the process. In the final laps, Cordeira had fellow Final Four competitor Greg Perry on his bumper, but he was able to hold him off. Cordeira beat Perry and Ethan Souza to win the title. He was also racing Danny Massa, who spun early and finished eighth in the 30-lap finale as Final Four drivers. The official finish included Cordeira, Perry, Souza, Sam Lincoln and Mike Henriques. Bobby Bettencourt III, Gary Conrad, Danny Massa, Michael Marcou and Don Courtemanche finished off the top-10. SEEKONK, Mass. — Many thought it would, but the finale of the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaw season came right down to the final laps on Friday night. And it was two Vanasse family members — Ryan and Collin — battling for the championship crown. In the end, Collin slid to the bottom of Ryan and took the lead on lap 7 and never looked back. The victory earned Collin the championship in the Bandolero Outlaws with his fourth win of the season and second straight to end the year. Ryan Vanasse Jr. finished second in the race and the championship. Ryan won nine times this season in the No. 11. Bryson Robidoux finished the race third, with Nathan Rioux and Andrew Gomes following in fourth and fifth. Gomes and sixth-place finisher Brent Robidoux also were part of the Final Four. They were followed by Brody Wakefield, Zachary Keith, RJ Murphy and Dylan Calabro to finish the top-10. The season is now complete for the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaw division. SEEKONK, Mass. — Crystal Murray left no doubt that the championship in the Sport 4 division would run through her by winning the first and third playoff events. In Friday’s season-finale, Murray truly ended any questions about if it was her title to lose. Murray used the outside lane to take the top spot, finished second on the track, but ended up winning in the final results in the Sport 4’s after Tyler Duhancik didn't pass inspection. The victory was her fourth of the season and enough to clinch her a second straight championship. Murray becomes the first two-time female champion in the history of Seekonk Speedway. She was followed in the finishing order by multiple-time season winner Jarrod Freitas, who finished second in the championship points for 2023. Additional Final Four drivers included Mikey LeFort and Richie Johnson, who finished the race in sixth and seventh. The official results included Murray, Freitas, Justin Leduc, Arthur Meack and Sam Mattera in the top-five. LeFort, Johnson, Henry Lavallee, Jacob Budznya and Daniel Hayes finished the top-10. SEEKONK, Mass. — Mike Hanafin didn’t make the final four in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits, but he made sure to end his season on top in 2023. Hanafin captured the final win of the season in Friday’s 15-lap feature, cementing his name as one to watch into the future with a second win on the season. While Hanafin picked up the win, Parker Davis finished second, and it was enough to clinch him the 2023 track championship. Davis beat out Nick Uhrig Jr., who finished third, Sam Macedo, who finished fourth and Mason Silva, who finished fifth in the race. The Final Four and the final race of the season went right down to the wire before the champion was crowned. The season included seven feature wins for Davis en route to the title including three of four races in the playoffs. David Bernier finished sixth in the race, followed by Alya Martin, Luka Dib, Ryder Aguiar and Carl Satterlund Jr. The season is now complete for the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits.
