SEEKONK, Mass. — The heat of the summer is here and Seekonk Speedway is ready to celebrate with a triple header of racing this weekend, August 11-13. Friday, the Fast Friday Series returns to the track, while NASCAR Saturday is back on track on Saturday and Sunday, the second and final Monster Truck show of the season invades Seekonk Speedway. Tickets for all three days are available online at SeekonkSpeedway.com and are cheaper online than they will be at the gates on race day. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead to save money and skip the long lines on the day of the races. Friday night, the Fast Friday Series heats up with the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandit and Outlaws, Sport 4’s, Helger’s Pure Stocks and Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars all on track. With just three regular season races remaining until the Sunoco Drive For The Cup playoff field is set, all divisions have drivers trying to hold off others for the final spot. In the last few Friday’s, racing has been hot on the track with exciting action in the Bandolero’s showcasing winners like Ryan Vanasse Jr., Collin Vanasse, Parker Davis and Sam Macedo. In the Sport 4’s, it’s been a season of winning for Mikey LeFort and Jarrod Freitas, but names like Crystal Murray have also won and been consistent each week. In the Pure Stocks, last week it was Greg Perry returning to Victory Lane for the first time this year, cementing himself in the playoff race, although at the bottom of the top eight. Is he showing he will be a threat to win the title and come on strong late in the summer? And in the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars, Isaiah Newcomb seems to be on a mid-season tear with multiple wins in a row. Is he now the favorite heading into the Drive For The Cup? Or will these upcoming three weeks impact who will be contenders? Saturday includes two Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series finales, for the Pro Stocks and the Late Models. The Pro Stock final four includes David Darling, who won both of the first two, Dylan Estrella, Bobby Pelland and Dick Benoit. In the Late Models, Luke LeBrun, Charlie Rose, Mark Jenison and Jacob Burns will battle for the crown. Although everyone knows Dave Darling is the Pro Stock favorite, Estrella has two wins this year, Pelland has been fast and Benoit has been a welcomed surprise at the front of the field. In the Late Models, LeBrun and Burns have shown their dominance at times, while Jenison, the defending champion, has been quiet, and Rose has one feature win. Both of these extra-distance events, set for 45 laps for the Late Models and 60 for the Pro Stocks, will be exciting to watch. Also in action on Saturday night are the Helger’s Sportsman and the Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks. Like all other Seekonk divisions, they are closing in on the playoff battle in September. Right now, both divisions have a driver sitting in eighth less than 20 points ahead of those behind. The Sportsman and Trucks will both run for 25 laps this week. The Sunday edition of Monster Truck Madness will include Trucks like Stinger Unleashed, Storm Damage, Hurricane Force, Crushstation, LumberJack and Virginia Giant. For the second time this season, the rumble and roar of the major Monster Trucks invades the Action Track of the East! This show also includes the East Coast Towing & Recovery Spectator Drags, always exciting for the fans. Fast Friday racing begins at 7 p.m., NASCAR Saturday action begins at 6 p.m., and Monster Truck racing begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Fast Friday tickets are $10 for adults in advance or $13 at the gates on race day. NASCAR Saturday tickets are $15 in advance or $18 at the gates. Sunday Monster Truck tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the gates. Sunday’s Monster Truck show is also $15 at the gates for youth ages 6-12 and kids five and under are free. The summer is heating up as the Speedway rolls into the final few weeks of racing before the playoffs and our 2023 champions are crowned. Don’t miss it!
