TRIPLE CROWN: Randy Moretti Picks up Sportsman Win
In a race that was green and clean for the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman on Saturday night at Seekonk Speedway, Randy Moretti took full advantage. Moretti picked up his first win in the Sportsman division in a 35-lap Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown event that went without a caution flag. While the cars spread out across the third-mile in the extra-distance event, the name of the game was to get to the front quick for Moretti. He passed for the lead on lap five and never gave up the top spot from there. In a borrowed ride after his wreck last week, Ryan Lineham charged through the field to finish in second, while Steve Axon and Chad Baxter had a tight battle over the final laps, with Axon taking third and Baxter fourth. Colby Lambert, winner from a week prior, was fifth. Adam Pettey, Craig Pianka, Chris Gomes, Nick Wood and Chris Rioux were positions six through 10 at the finish. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman will be back on the track on Saturday, July 22.
