THRILLER: LALLIER HOLDS OFF LILLIE FOR LATE MODEL TRIUMPH By Souza Media SEEKONK, Mass. — Saturday’s Late Model feature went down to the wire — literally the last few inches — before a winner was decided. Former Sportsman champion Paul Lallier and former Late Model winner Jeramee Lillie battled hard for the entire 30 laps, often trading paint and racing closer than most people walk on a narrow street. After a mid-race chaotic tangle that caught multiple cars and forced the red flag, the two battled right down to the finish with Lallier edging out for his second career Late Model win by just .003 seconds. Lillie had to settle for second, but there were no losers in that battle on this night. Ryan Flood finished third, while Charlie Rose and Josh Hedges completed the top-five. Jacob Burns finished sixth, followed by Gerry DeGasparre Jr., Vinnie Arreneago, Chris Gomes and Bill Goodrow. The mid-race tangle collected Burns, who was on top of DeGasparre. Both drivers were able to continue and work their way back into the top-10.
