It was a race filled with new faces at the front of the field in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaw field at Seekonk Speedway on opening night. Early, it was Nathan Rioux pacing the field in his Rookie debut, looking like he might have a chance to capture the win in his first start. But, when the checkered flag went into the air, it wasn’t Rioux at the top — but instead — it was one of the stapled veterans of the division — Chase Silvia — who was on top. With Silvia running some events last year, and a ton of drivers entering the division with little to no laps in the Bandolero Outlaws, Silvia was one of the few polished veterans in the field and took full advantage. He took the lead on lap nine and never looked back, posting his fastest lap of the feature at the white flag, and holding off Andrew Gomes to take the win. Gomes, who made a four-wide move in the second half of the race to get himself there, finished second, while Bradley Strickland opened the season with a podium in third. Joey Lemay and Rioux finished the top-five. Mikey LeFort III was sixth, followed by Dylan Calabro, Bobby Bettencourt III, Jordan Duquette and Leo Rossi. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaw division will return to the track on Friday, June 3 for another 15-lap feature.
