SEEKONK, Mass. — The first round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series in the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman came right down to the wire on Saturday night. Adam Pettey, Doug Benoit and Scott Serydynski Jr. battled it out hard for the win after a late restart set the stage for a dash to the finish. In the end, it was Pettey finding redemption, after two weeks of hard luck to open the season with a fast car. Pettey crossed the line and took the checkered flag, with Benoit, driving the car that Craig Pianka drove to the championship two years ago, finishing in second. Serydynski, who won the week prior, charged through the field and came away with a strong third-place finish. Colby Lambert and Randy Moretti followed in fourth and fifth. Jeremy Lambert, Joe Kohler Jr., Tyler Almeida, Josh Hedges and Nick Wood rounded out the top-10 in the 35-lap event. The Sportsman will be back on the track on Saturday, June 15, for 25 laps.
