SEEKONK, Mass. — When race fans showed up to Seekonk Speedway on Friday night, many of them didn’t know the name Benjamin Moribeto. However, after 15 laps in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits, everyone at the track knew who the driver of the No. 17 was. Moribeto got to the lead just before halfway in a busy and wreck-filled race, but in the end, he wasn’t going to be denied. Moribeto drove away from Ryan Vanasse Jr. and Milania Shilosky on a late restart to take his first career Seekonk win in his debut at the third-mile. Vanasse and Shilosky returned to the podium once again, finishing second and third in the 15-lapper. Behind them, Sam “The Green Hornet” Macedo was fourth and Luka Dib scored a top-five finish, one of the best runs of his career. Behind them, Brody Wakefield was sixth, followed by Kix Bock, Nick Uhrig Jr., Bryson Robidoux and Rodney Dowless. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits will return to the track on Friday, August 27, for another 15-lap feature.
