SEEKONK, Mass. — Invading Seekonk Speedway for the first time this season in the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars, Jase Mongeon made it count. The driver of the No. 19 used the outside lane on a green-white-checkered finish to wheel around Jacob “Rowdy” Burns and take the victory in the 25-lap main event.
Burns, Isaiah Newcomb, Richie Helger Jr and others had a tough battle for the lead for much of the early portion of the race. It wasn’t until the final few laps that Mongeon made his moves count to get to the front, taking the outside of the front row for the final restart. Mongeon edged out Burns across the line by less than two car lengths, with Burns and Newcomb finishing second and third. Helger scored a second straight top-five in fourth and Brenden LaBelle finished in fifth. Cole Robie, Chase Silvia, Nicholaus Bulkeley, Mason Tessier and Jake Silvia finished sixth through 10. The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars will return to the track on Friday, July 21, with another 25-lap race.
