SEEKONK, Mass. — The second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series for the Pro Stocks came down to the final laps, and it was a thrilling finish that marked the end of the 60-lap feature when the checkered flag went into the air.
Dylan Estrella used the outside lane on a restart inside the final 10 laps to gain the edge over Mike Brightman, and then had to hold Brightman off in the final circuits to take the win. Brightman led much of the race, but the late caution gave Estrella one more shot, and the Everett’s Auto Parts driver didn’t disappoint. David Darling rebounded from early trouble to chase up through the field and finish third, while Bobby Pelland and Dick Benoit completed the top-five after 60 circuits. Benoit challenged inside the podium for much of the middle of the race, continuing to show speed in his No. 47 machine. Kevin Casper, Mark Jenison, Tommy Adams, Mike Rotondo and Billy Brady finished off the top-10 spots. The Pro Stocks will be back on track on Saturday, August 12 for another feature. They will be off next Saturday, July 29, but many of the regulars will run with the Pro All Star Series in the 150-lap contest.
