SEEKONK, Mass. — Colby Lambert got back to Seekonk Speedway Victory Lane for the first time in many years on Saturday night. Driving the No. 54 in the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman, Lambert came out on top of a thrilling battle that saw the leaders almost four-wide during the final few laps of the race. Jimmy “Pepe” Silvia returned to the front of the class for the first time in many years, racing hard with Lambert for much of the event, along with Randy Moretti and Adam Pettey. The four drivers swapped the front positions back and forth over the final laps, with Pepe running his famed outside lane keeping the fans on the edge of their seats. In the final lap, the field crossed the line at the white flag three-wide with Pepe on the outside, Lambert in the middle and Pettey looking to the bottom. When they came around for the checkered, Lambert held them all off for the win, with Silvia in second and Pettey finishing third, marking yet another podium for him. Moretti and former champion Chad Baxter followed in fourth and fifth. Defending champion Craig Pianka finished sixth, followed by Steve Axon, Tyler Almeida, Don Perry and Crystal Serydynski. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman will return to the track for another feature, this time 35 laps in the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series on Saturday, July 1.
