SEEKONK, Mass. — Former Seekonk Speedway Late Model winner and Sport Truck champion Josh Hedges added a Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman win to his resume on Saturday night. Driving the No. 21, Hedges started fourth and worked his way up to the lead, passing Greg Perry for the top spot around halfway. From there, Hedges had a host of challengers try to take it away. He held off Tyler Almeida on the final restart to score the win, but also had a tough battle with Scott Serydynski Jr. for the lead in the middle of the race. While Hedges won, Almeida opened the season with a strong second. Jeremy Lambert, a former Fast Friday Pure Stock champion, finished in third, while Doug Benoit and Colby Lambert rounded out the top-five. Colby had to charge through the field after an incident in the middle of the race. Nick Wood, Mackenzie Stevenson, Dane Saritelli, Perry and Mark Healy finished the top-10. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman will be back on track on Saturday, May 18 for their second race of the season.
