Darren Krantz Jr. opened the 2022 season just about right where he finished last year in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits at Seekonk Speedway. Krantz got to the lead early in the 15-lap feature, and didn’t let anyone challenge him once he got there, rocketing to victory in the first race of the season. Krantz, who dominated the division last year, is off to quite the impressive start in his look to repeat. He was closely challenged over the final laps by Milania Shilosky, who posted the fastest time in time trials, but Shilosky had to settle for second when the checkered flag went into the wind. Behind her, it was a Vanasse family affair inside the top-five. Collin Vanasse had some speed behind the wheel of his No. 78, finishing third, while Ryan Vanasse Jr. chased him across the line, finishing fourth. Sam Macedo, the man they nickname the “Green Hornet,” opened the season in his return to Seekonk with a top-five finish. Mike Hanafin was sixth, followed by Bryson Robidoux, RJ Murphy and Allya DeSomma. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandit division will return to the track on Friday, June 3 for another 15-lap feature.
