SEEKONK, Mass. — For the first time in 308 days, Dave Darling was celebrating in Seekonk Speedway Victory Lane on Saturday night. Darling chased down Mike Brightman and passed the two-time season winner with just eight laps to go in the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown, capturing his first win of the season. Darling’s season hasn’t been filled with wins — but instead consistent finishes — as the eight-time champion leads the championship standings heading towards the playoffs. Brightman would finish second, nearly capturing his second straight Triple Crown win, while Tom Scully Jr drove through the field in the second half of the extra-distance event to finish in third. Colbey Fournier posted a strong fourth-place effort, while Bobby Pelland led laps early and rounded out the top-five. Darryl Stampfl placed sixth, an impressive run, while Kenny Spencer, Ted Urquhart, Mark Jenison and Tommy Adams finished the top-10 spots. The Pro Stocks will return to the track on Saturday, July 23, with another 40-lap feature.
