SEEKONK, Mass. — When the Pro Stocks prepared for the extra-distance in the American Racer 75, it was no surprise to see Dave Darling in the field on Saturday night. And it was also no surprise to see Darling rocket to the front from his 10th place starting position and take away the big win after 75 laps.
In the special event, sponsored by Seekonk tire supplier American Racer, Darling worked his way past Kenny Spencer for the lead on lap 28 and never looked back. Spencer, a former champion himself, finished second, posting his best run of the season, with Tom Scully Jr. also posting his best run in third. Darryl Stampfl had a good run finishing in fourth, with Dylan Estrella completing the top-five. Bobby Pelland charged from the back to finish sixth with Mike Brightman, Mike Mitchell, Kevin Casper and Tommy Adams completing the top-10. The Pro Stocks will be back on the track on Saturday, July 15 for the Scully Memorial 55-lap race.
