SEEKONK, Mass. — Dave Darling made it look easy again on Saturday night in the Seekonk Speedway Pro Stock division. Driving the familiar No. 52, Darling may have started in the middle of the pack, but it didn’t take him long to get to the front. When a few others got together, including Colbey Fournier and Kenny Spencer racing for the lead, Darling wasn’t going to look back.
He took the top spot, and bested the rest of the field on multiple restarts to roll to a fourth victory of the season, and put momentum back on his side heading for the inaugural Seekonk Drive For The Cup presented by Sunoco Race Fuel. While Darling drove away in the final laps, Tom Scully Jr. held off Tommy Adams in what was a fierce battle for second in the 40-lap feature. Darryl Stampfl crossed the line in fourth, his best run of the season, with Mark Jenison completing the top-five. Ryan Vanasse was sixth, followed by Ryan Souliere, Bobby Pelland, Tyler Tomassi and Danny Thibeault. The Pro Stocks will return to the track on Saturday, September 10, for round one of the Drive For The Cup presented by Sunoco Race Fuels, set for 40 laps.
