Chase Belcher had been struggling for much of the 2022 season with an ill-handling race car in the Late Model division. But Saturday, in a 30-lap feature that didn’t see any caution flags, Belcher made it clear he wasn’t going to be denied. Belcher took the lead from Jeramee Lillie early in the race and essentially coasted to victory over the final half of the main event. It was the first win of the season for Belcher, who became the sixth different winner in six Late Model races in 2022. Behind him, Lillie earned his second straight second-place finish, as the veteran continues to show improvement over past seasons. Josh Hedges rebounded from a few tough weeks to grab a podium finish behind Lillie in the No. 29, while Jacob “Rowdy” Burns and Gerry DeGasparre Jr. finished out the top-five. Ryan Flood finished sixth, followed by Luke Lebrun, Richie Murray, Paul Lallier and Vinnie Arrenegado. The Late Models will return to the track on Saturday, June 25, for round two of their Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series, set for 45 laps. Tickets for next Saturday and all 2022 Seekonk Speedway events are available online now at SeekonkSpeedway.com.
