SEEKONK, Mass. — After a tough few weeks of competition for Mike Cavallaro with his Sport Truck, the former champion had the right combination on Saturday night. Cavallaro jumped out front early in the 25-lap race for the Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks and shook the bad luck monkey off his back, dominating to win the main event. It was the first win of the season for Cavallaro in a year that has seen him have plenty of speed, but fail to complete a full race up front.
Saturday was the night. Defending champion Rick Martin finished second with Jake Vanada racing his way through the field to finish in third. Jeff Belyea posted his best career finish in fourth spot with two-time season winner Brittany Campbell rounding out the top-five. Mike Duarte, Amy Arsenault, Ethan Heilborn, Bobby Tripp and Tom Scully III finished the top-10 spots. The Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks will have two weeks off and will return to the track on Saturday, July 22.
