SEEKONK, Mass. — Ben Tinker couldn’t have asked for a much better night when the 350 SMAC Supermodifieds invaded Seekonk Speedway on Wednesday night. Racing as part of the annual Open Wheel Wednesday with a 40-lap race, Tinker dominated, leading all of the laps en route to a dominating victory. After Tinker took control, the race for second was on in the final laps between Brad Babb and Kenny White Jr. With a last-lap pass, Babb was able to get around and finish in the runner-up spot. White was able to finish third, followed by Dave Helliwell and Bobby Timmons III. The thrills of the small-block supermodifieds racing around the third-mile Seekonk Speedway with lap times just over 11 seconds per circuit thrilled a packed house on Wednesday. The event also included the NEMA Lites and a $10,000 to win Open Wheel Modified madness show. Scott Watts Sr., Matt Seavey, Paul Buzel, PJ Stergios and John Leonard finished the top-10 spots.
