SEEKONK, Mass. -- Two weeks ago, Chad Baxter got the car back that he had dominated with at Seekonk Speedway in 2021. Two races in, he has two victories with it in 2022. Baxter made a late move to pass Randy Moretti for the lead on Saturday, June 25, picking up the victory in the 25-lap main event, as the defending champion is back in prime form. Moretti led most of the race, but a caution in the final laps slowed the action and the battle was on up front. Moretti spun the tires just a bit from the lead, and Baxter, who had charged from 10th all the way to the outside of the front row, took full advantage, taking the lead. Baxter would hang on for the win, besting Ed Perry and Adam Petty at the finish. Kyle Casper crossed the line fourth, while Ryan Lineham was behind him, rounding out the top-five. Doug Benoit finished sixth, followed by Moretti, Scott Serydysnki Jr., Tyler Almeida and Craig Pianka. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman will return to the track on Saturday, July 9. The NASCAR Saturday divisions will be off on July 2. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media.
