SEEKONK SPEEDWAY BACK ON TRACK WITH BUSY FRIDAY, SATURDAY SLATE THIS WEEK

SEEKONK, Mass. — Another doubleheader weekend of racing is set to return to Seekonk Speedway this Friday and Saturday night. Fast Friday returns to the track for round four on Friday, June 20, while NASCAR Saturday is back on the third-mile on June 21.

Friday night racing includes the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars, Helger’s Pure Stocks, Everett’s Sport 4’s and Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits and Outlaws. On NASCAR Saturday, the Pro Stocks will hit the track for 40 laps in the first time in a month, while all three of the other divisions - the Helger’s Sportsman, Sport Trucks and Late Models will all run round two of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series. Saturday also includes another round of racing for the East Coast Towing & Recovery Spectator Drags.

Friday racing begins at 7 p.m., while Saturday goes green at 6 p.m.

NASCAR Saturday roars to life headlined by the Pro Stocks for their fourth race of the season. Although it’s been a month since they were last on track, the storylines entering this one are endless. Season winners so far include just Vinnie Arrenegado and Jacob Burns, who both grabbed their first career wins early in the year - Burns taking checkered in two straight. Their list of challengers going into this week will include Bobby Pelland III, Mark Jenison, David Darling, Mike Brightman, Colbey Fournier, Nick Lascuola and many others. Their main event is set for 40 laps.

The Late Models will end up running back-to-back Everett’s Triple Crown Series races due to Mother Nature interfering the last few weeks. Last time out, Luke LeBrun and Charlie Rose had a slugfest for the win, with LeBrun coming out on top after a hard-fought battle. Those two are headed back to the third-mile to battle against Chase Belcher, Andrew Gomes, Mark Jenison, Richie Murray, Jacob Burns and others in the 45-lap Triple Crown round two on Saturday night.

The East Coast Towing Spectator Drags roll out for their fourth race of the season. Side by Side one on one racing that leave everyone on the edge of their seats. Three different winners so far this season, who will be next.

Helger’s Sportsman competition has run through Scott Serydynski Jr. so far, as the driver of the No. 22 has two feature wins in the first four events. He’s been in the top-five in all four races - joined by Jeremy Lambert, Colby Lambert and defending champion Adam Pettey with that stat to their names. These four have all won except Jeremy, who looks to get to the top this week in their second Triple Crown Series race. Set for 35 laps, the extra-distance could give the four of them the chance they need to get to the front and fight off challenges from names like Doug Benoit, Josh Gerard and many others.

Last time out for the Sport Trucks ended with Jake Vanada on top, taking down his first win of the season in round four. Vanada has been fast, but hasn’t had the consistency that Mike Cavallaro has put together early in the season. Cavallaro leads the championship standings early in the season with podium finishes in all four races so far. Tim Bolger Jr has finished sixth or better in all four events. It’s been Cavallaro, Ethan Heilborn, Rick Martin, and Vanada in Victory Lane so far. Will someone like Amy Helger or Dane Saritelli join them this week in their second Triple Crown event, set for 35 laps?

Fast Friday action returns hot on Friday night, headlined by the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars. Two races in, Jacob “Rowdy” Burns has won both, with Josh Parsons and Brenden LaBelle right there on the podium with him both times. Some names to watch entering this week’s 25-lap main event include Chase Silvia, Ryan Vanasse Jr., Richie Helger Jr., Rookie of the Year contender Brody Wakefield, Isaiah Newcomb, Mason Tessier, Jake Silvia and more. The Legends Cars division showcases the youth and veterans of racing at Seekonk Speedway all mixed together in one.

The Sport 4 class watched Arthur Meack thread through a fine needle to win last week in the first round of their Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series. While leaders Mike LeFort III and Matt Pion got together, Meack found his way through to win his first of the season. He will look to make it two-for-two, but will have to fend off Richie Johnson, who won the first two events of the season. Outside of those two, LeFort is inching closer to his first career win, while Jacob Budzyna has put together a consistent start to the season, sitting second in the early championship standings. The Sport 4 division is back for 25 laps on Friday night.

Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandit racers have been chasing Jace Chaber, who has three wins in three weeks. He dominated the first two, but had to come back from some mid-race trouble to still survive to win in week three. Although he’s won, he will be closely followed again this week by Carl Satterlund Jr., Landon Solomito, Brook Meyer, Elias Dib and many others in their 15-lap feature.

Allyha DeSomma is coming off her first career win in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaw division, posting three podiums in the first three races of the year. Jordan Duquette has been right there with her. Vincent Sarro and David Bernier have both joined her in Victory Lane. Entering week four, names like Brady Connors, Nathan Zimmerman, Mason Silva and Ryder Aguiar will also all be ready to challenge.

Helger’s Pure Stock competition has watched three different drivers win in three weeks - Mike Henriques, Jared Cordeira and Danny Massa. Brent Robidoux has been the most consistent driver to not win so far, currently tied with Cordeira for the championship lead. And outside of those four, names like Ethan Souza, Matt Talbot, Zachary Keith, Crystal Murray and Peter Bleau, among others, will all be ready to challenge again for 25 laps this Friday night.
