SEEKONK, Mass. — As the Action Track of the East hits the middle of the summer, racing will heat up this weekend with two nights of action set for Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16. Fast Friday returns to the track for another round, while NASCAR Saturday is also back for the first time in nearly one month as the battle towards the inaugural Seekonk Speedway Drive For The Cup Playoff system continues to inch closer. Fast Friday will be headlined by the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series for the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars, while Saturday includes the second round of the Everett’s Triple Crown for the Pro Stocks, set for 60 laps, and a special appearance by the Troy City Tactical Spectator Drags. Fast Friday’s Legends Cars division has been competitive all year, and a special extra-distance race this week should be no different. Devin Deshaies has three wins, with Brendon Hammann close behind with two. Mason Tessier had a rough start to the year, but spun it back in his own direction last week, scoring his first win of the season. Additional drivers who haven’t won, but have been competitive, include Reese Bogue, Isaiah Newcomb, Brenden LaBelle and Josh Parsons. The second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series will help decide who makes the finale round for the Legends Cars, which is set for August 5. In the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks, Mike Henriques heads into the 25-lap feature this week fresh-off his first win of the season, with Greg Perry, a two-time feature winner, coming home in the runner-up spot last week. While those two have been strong, Danny Massa has a 10-point lead over Jeremy Lambert in the standings. Both of those drivers have been to Victory Lane — but the next two in the points battle — Sam Lincoln and Jordan Threllfall — would like to get there for the first time this Friday night. Both Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero divisions have been competitive all year, with the Outlaw division running through Chase Silvia in the first six weeks. Silvia has five wins behind the wheel of the No. 17, and has a comfortable lead over Andrew Gomes. However, with the new playoff system this year, all that matters is making the top six in the point standings in the Bandolero class. Currently, Mikey LeFort III leads Bobby Bettencourt III for the final playoff spot by four points, with Adam Harrison and Bradley Strickland just 8 points back. As the playoffs inch closer, will the Outlaw division be Seekonk’s closest battle to make it into the playoffs? The Bandit division has three different winners so far, with Darren Krantz Jr. winning the first three events, followed by two straight by Milania Shilosky and last weeks winner Ryan Vanasse Jr. Heading into their 15-lap feature this week, Sam Macedo, Collin Vanasse and Bryson Robidoux will all be looking for their first wins of the season, while RJ Murphy looks to repeat his podium last week and get even closer to the front. The Everett’s Auto Parts Sport 4 division closed up last week when Crystal Murray had a tire failure, meaning she leads Jarrod Freitas and Tyler Duhancik by just six points. However, the battle for the top-8 spots is also competitive in this division. Stephanie Bruneau leads by six points over Justin Leduc, as the top-9 drivers seem to have separated themselves a bit from others. The Sport 4 division has multiple different winners so far, and names like Henry Lavallee and Duhancik could be adding their name this week. On NASCAR Saturday, the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman field has continued to impress fans this year, with Ed Perry, Craig Pianka and Chad Baxter all visiting Victory Lane so far. However — names like Doug Benoit, Tyler Almeida and Adam Pettey have been close to getting the job done. Baxter got his old faithful car back a few weeks ago and has multiple wins in a row under his belt leading into this weekend, but we will see if a two-week break changes things. The Pro Stocks will compete in the second round of their Everett’s Triple Crown, set for 60 laps, and it should be a close battle. In the first Triple Crown race, Mike Brightman barely held off Dave Darling, thrilling fans with a final 10 laps to remember. This time, will Darling get the edge? The eight-time track champion has yet to get to Victory Lane in 2022 as we hit the middle of July. Tommy Adams, Tom Scully Jr., Ryan Vanasse and others will look to make their own mark on this special event. The Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks are coming off their own two-week break, and as one of Seekonk’s most competitive divisions, their race for the playoffs is also close. Amy Arsenault leads Tom Scully III by just eight points for the final playoff spot, while the top-six drivers seem to have distanced themselves. Jake Vanada is seventh, just six points ahead of Arsenault. All three of them will look for their first wins of the season this week in the 25-lap feature on Saturday, trying to beat the likes of recent winner Brittany Campbell, Barry Shaw Jr., Mike Cavallaro, Rick Martin, Mike Duarte and others. In the Late Models, this division is coming off one of the more intense races in recent memory — a three-wide battle for the lead in the last round of the Triple Crown Series. Their 30-lap feature this week will be a battle between points leader Gerry DeGasparre Jr., Vinnie Arrenegado, Chase Belcher, Richie Murray and others. Saturday also includes another round of racing for the Troy City Tactical Spectator Drags — their second straight weekend of action. Early in their season, Richie Johnson leads the points battle over Mike Vincent and Joe Defarias. Fast Friday racing begins at 7 p.m., while NASCAR Saturday takes the green flag at 6 p.m. Tickets for both nights are available in advance at SeekonkSpeedway.com and will also be available at the track on race day. Tickets for all of the 2022 Seekonk Speedway events are also available online. Seekonk Speedway has multiple major events coming up including the second annual Bay State Classic on Wednesday, July 27, worth $10,000 to win with the Pro All Star Series in town. The Midsummer Thrill Show is also scheduled for Saturday, July 30. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest updates.

It was almost like Mason Tessier had been fired out of a cannon on Friday night, as the driver of the No. 42 picked up his first Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars win of the season in the 25-lap feature. Tessier started in the middle of the pack, but it didn’t take him long to get to the front, as the former Seekonk Speedway Youth Racing champion passed Derek Gluchacki just before the halfway point to take the lead for the first time. In a race that was mostly clean and green, Tessier would never relinquish the top spot. He started off the year with a few bad weeks, wrecking and ending races before the finish, but this time, Tessier was the first one across the finish line after a 25-lap battle filled with excitement. Derek Gluchacki returned to the Legends Cars, led laps, and finished in second, while Josh Parsons followed both of them across the line and finished in third spot. Brendan LaBelle charged through the pack late to finish fourth, followed by Devin Deshaies, a three-time season winner. The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars will return to the track on Friday, July 15 for the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series, a 30-lap feature. Henriques worked the early race laps to the lead and was the dominant force until his good friend Greg Perry chased him down in the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks. Perry would edge out across the line with just four laps to go in the lead, and the caution came at the perfect time for the two-time division champion, giving him the lead on the restart, and the bottom groove to himself. However — Henriques — using the outside lane — got back around, and took down his first win of the season in the No. 03. Perry would finish second, while Danny Massa charged to the front and finished in third spot. Jordan Threllfall and Mike Rotondo followed, rounding out the top-five. Sam Lincoln finished sixth, with Jeremy Lambert, Nick Brightman, Ed Gould and Matt Talbot completing the top-10 after 25 laps. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks will return to the track on Friday, July 15 for another 25-lap feature. MANUEL MAKES IT TWO: Former Champion Back On Top In Sport 4’s The second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series ended the same way the first round did for the Everett’s Auto Parts Sport 4 division. AJ Manuel, a former division champion, returned to the track, started at the rear, and rolled to Victory Lane driving the No. 88 to the front in style. Manuel literally started last — but wasn’t going to let that slow him down. He chased down leader Mikey LeFort during a green flag run that lasted the first 28 laps — and was looking to the inside of him when the caution went in the air. On the restart, Manuel used the outside lane to clear LeFort and roll to Victory Lane. LeFort would finish second in his second race of the season, while Tyler Duhancik was third. Jarrod Freitas followed up his first career win with a fourth-place finish and Karlin Levesque rounded out the top-five. Taylor Bowser was sixth, followed by DJ Thibeault, Henry Lavallee, Justin Leduc and Stephanie Bruneau. The Everett’s Auto Parts Sport 4’s will return to the track on Friday, July 15 for another 25-lap feature. Chase Silvia has been just about unbeatable in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws so far in 2022. On Friday night, Silvia rocketed to another feature win, his fifth in six races in the competitive youth division. This time, he had to work extra hard for it. Adam “Hollywood” Harrison worked his way to the lead quickly in the 15-lap feature and it looked like he was going to grab his first win of the year. A late caution slowed the action and Harrison took off out front, leading the field across the line at the white flag. Before long, Silvia was on his bumper as the field took the flag, and the driver of the No. 17 worked to the inside, taking the lead and driving away to the checkered flag out front again. Harrison would finish second, his best effort of the year, with Brent Robidoux completed the podium in third. Mikey LeFort III was fourth and Bradley Strickland finished the top-five. Joey LeMay finished in sixth, followed by Bobby Bettencourt III, Jordan Duquette, Andrew Gomes and Abbie Badejo. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws will return to the track on Friday, July 15 for another 15-lap feature. After coming so close so many times to open 2022, Ryan Vanasse Jr. wasn’t going to be denied on Friday night. Vanasse took advantage of a mid-race mishap battling for the lead and rocketed to the top spot, never giving up the lead position over the course of the rest of the 15-lap feature on Friday, July 8. The victory was the first of the year for the driver of the Team V Racing No. 11, continuing an impressive stretch of consistency at the front of the pack. While Vanasse celebrated the win, Darren Krantz Jr. would finish second, with RJ Murphy putting together the best performance of his career, rounding out the podium in third. Parker Davis was fourth, and Nick Uhrig Jr. scored a top-five finish for the second straight race. Collin Vanasse finished sixth, followed by Bryson Robidoux, Sam Macedo, Mike Hanafin and Rodney Davis. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits will return to the track on Friday, July 15 for another 15-lap feature. SEEKONK, Mass. -- Seekonk Speedway will roar back to life this weekend, July 8-9, with Fast Friday racing returning to the track and the Independence Day Thrill Show set for Saturday night in a packed weekend of racing at the Massachusetts third-mile. On Friday night, after having last week off, the drivers of the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits and Outlaws, Everett’s Auto Parts Sport 4’s, Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars and Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks will return to the third-mile for action. The Saturday night Thrill Show special, beginning at 5PM, will be Seekonk’s annual Independence Day celebration, with fireworks and a full card of racing on tap one week late due to Mother Nature. Friday’s event will showcase the Everett’s Auto Parts Sport 4’s in the second round of the Everett’s Triple Crown. In their first Triple Crown event, AJ Manuel, a former division champion, stormed back to the track and rolled to the victory in his first race back. Crystal Murray finished second, and the Tiverton, Rhode Island, native has podium finishes in all of the races so far this season, giving her a points lead of just under 30 going into this week. Jarrod Freitas is coming off his first career win last time out and will be joined by Tyler Duhancik, Henry Lavallee, Karlin Levesque and others as major contenders in the 30-lap special. The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars season has revolved around Devin Deshaies and Brendon Hamannn, but Friday could see a new challenger get to Victory Lane. Reese Bogue hasn’t won yet, but multiple top-five finishes has the driver of the No. 4 in prime position to pounce this week. Coming off strong runs in the last few weeks, Isaiah Newcomb, Brenden LaBelle, Mason Tessier, Nicholaus Bulkeley and others should be top of mind when it comes to the 25-lapper this week. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero divisions have been dominated by a few faces early on. In five Bandit races, Darren Krantz Jr. won the first three, but Milania Shilosky has since won the next two. With those two leading the way, Nick Uhrig Jr., Ryan Vanasse Jr and others have also been impressive early on. In the Outlaw division, Chase Silvia has four victories in the first five events and has no signs of slowing down — but Brent Robidoux, Bradley Strickland, Andrew Gomes and others aren’t going to let him get away without a fight. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks will also be back Friday night, trying to hold off two-time and defending champion Greg Perry in their championship battle. Perry has two wins, but somehow still sits fifth in their points run due to a DNF early in the season. At the top, most recent division winner Danny Massa leads Jeremy Lambert by just two points. Coming off a strong run, look for Sam Lincoln to get to Victory Lane before long in 2022. Fast Friday racing begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 8. Tickets are just $10 for adults, while those 12 and under are free. All tickets are available in advance at SeekonkSpeedway.com but will also be sold at the track on race day. On Saturday, Seekonk lights up the night sky with the annual Independence Day Thrill Show powered by MEGA Disposal. The Troy City Tactical Spectator Drags return for another round of racing, while the Car & Truck Enduros, Figure 8 Races, Insane Chain Race and Powder Puff divisions will also be in action. For this special event show, adults are $25 per person, while kids 6-12 are $12 and those five and under are free. Parking, as always, is free at Seekonk Speedway. Gates will open at 2:30PM for this show with the green flag dropping at 5PM. Tickets for all Seekonk Speedway events are now available online at SeekonkSpeedway.com. Tickets can be purchased in advance for both general admission in the grandstands and pit passes for all races, including major upcoming races. Seekonk Speedway will host the Independence Day Thrill Show on Saturday, July 9 and will host Fast Friday and NASCAR Saturday racing just about every week through the end of the summer. In July, Seekonk will also host the Pro All Star Series Bay State Classic 150 on July 27, worth $10,000 to win the winner, and the Midsummer Thrill Show on Saturday, July 30.
