TRIPLEHEADER WEEKEND ON TAP AT SEEKONK SPEEDWAY

SEEKONK, Mass. — Seekonk Speedway is set for a massive tripleheader weekend June 13-14-15 - as Fast Friday, NASCAR Saturday and a special Father’s Day Monster Truck Bash will make up a full weekend of excitement at the Action Track of the East.

Fast Friday begins at 7 p.m., while NASCAR Saturday goes green at 6 p.m. The Father’s Day special Monster Truck show drops the green flag on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Most Fast Friday divisions have two races in the books, but not the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars. After their first feature rained out, last week opened the season with a 30-lap Everett’s Triple Crown Series event - won by former champion Jacob “Rowdy” Burns. He dominated the race, driving to the front and driving away to the win, after also posting the fastest lap in group qualifying. Entering week two, Burns will be closely chased by Brenden LaBelle, Josh Parsons, Richie Helger Jr., Isaiah Newcomb, Brody Wakefield and others, as they return to the track for 25 more fast laps.

The Helger’s Pure Stock field has watched two different drivers mostly dominate in the first two weeks. Week one it was Mike Henriques who drove away into Victory Lane. Although Jared Cordeira may have had a fierce challenge over the final laps in week two, he drove his No. 20 to the winners circle leading nearly all 25 laps. Those two will be back - along with defending champion Brent Robidoux, Ethan Souza, Rookie of the Year contender Crystal Murray, Danny Massa and others in Friday’s first round of the Everett’s Triple Crown, set for 30 laps.

The Sport 4 division will also open their Triple Crown with 30 laps of their own. They are all chasing Richie Johnson after the first two weeks, as the driver of the No. 8 has been to Victory Lane in both races. Other names that have been up front include Mikey LeFort III, who scored his first podium last week, AJ Manuel and Jacob Budzyna. Fans can look for challengers like Tyler Duhancik and Matt Pion to also be a threat in Friday’s feature race.

The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits are all chasing Jace Chaber through the first two events, as the youth star has won both. He’s been joined on the podium by names like Carl Satterlund Jr, Brook Meyer and Landon Solomito. Will one of the other drivers from the podium be able to break through and knock Chaber off the top this week in their 15-lap race, or is he going three-for-three?

In the Bandolero Outlaws, two different winners so far include former Bandit champion David Bernier and opening night winner Vincent Sarro. But, it’s been Jordan Duquette and Allyha DeSomma on the podium both weeks, flopping their positions of second and third with each other in both events. As the division heads for another 15-lap battle, look for one of them to maybe grab their first career victory. Mason Silva has also been strong in the first two weeks, with top-five finishes.

After a week off due to a victory by Mother Nature, the NASCAR divisions are scheduled to be back on track Saturday night.

It’s the fourth race of the season for the Pro Stocks, as the division returns to action after a full three weeks off. This one is a big one - the American Racer Pro Stock 75, worth $2,000 to win, $1,500 for second and $1,100 for third.

Jacob “Rowdy” Burns rocketed to Victory Lane the last two times on the track, showing he may be a rookie, but will have a major effort towards the title. Vinnie Arrenegado is the only other winner going into this Saturday’s 75-lap main event. Early in the season, though, it’s defending champion Dylan Estrella who shows the way in the championship battle by four points over Burns, 12 over Bobby Pelland III and 19 over Mark Jenison. Will one of these drivers be on top this week or will Mike Brightman, Colbey Fournier or rookie contender Andrew Gomes have something to say?

The Late Models rocket back to the track Saturday after a wild 45-lap opener to their Everett’s Triple Crown that ended with Luke LeBrun picking up his second victory in four events. He bested Charlie Rose in another classic Late Model showdown, and the two will certainly be threats going into the 30-lap feature. Chase Belcher has been the most consistent driver to not win so far, currently second in the championship battle, just six points back. Andrew Gomes, who is doing double duty between the Late Models and Pro Stocks, is also off to a strong start. Names like Mark Jenison, Richie Murray, Connor Souza, Brittany Campbell and more should be ones to watch this week. The Late Models will switch it up and be the final feature of the night on Saturday.

Although he only has two victories in four weeks, it feels like Scott Serydynski Jr. has dominated the opening sprint of the Helger’s Sportsman season. Serydynski jumped out front and drove away in their most recent event, but Colby Lambert was still right there in second when the checkered flag went into the air. Serydynski, Colby Lambert, his brother Jeremy and Adam Pettey have been inside the top-five in all four Sportsman events so far this year. All of them have won except Jeremy, who would love to add his name to the list. He may have to contend with Josh Gerard, though - as the former Star Speedway regular - who is running Seekonk this season - is impressively running at the front of the pack with limited Seekonk experience. The Sportsman are back on Saturday for 35 more laps of excitement in the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series.

The second round of the Everett’s Triple Crown on NASCAR Saturday will begin this week with the Sport Trucks up first in their feature event. Jake Vanada is coming off a victory in the most recent 25-lap feature, putting an exclamation point on what has been a fast Truck right from week one. While he won, Mike Cavallaro and Tim Bolger joined him on the podium. Cavallaro leads the championship battle by 19 points, with four podium finishes in the first four events. The former champion certainly has figured out the Truck and looks to be in position to make another run at a championship. Bolger, Vanada, Radical Rick Martin, Ethan Heilborn and Amy Helger should all be considered favorites to try and win the second Triple Crown round. Back in the first Triple Crown event, it was Martin who went to Victory Lane, locking himself into the finale in August. Who will join him in the finals?

Sunday’s Monster Truck showdown includes not only multiple Monster Trucks, but also another race for the East Coast Towing & Recovery Spectator Drags Series. Heading for their third event of the season, Matt Desrosiers leads Liam Monaghan and Jarred Smith in their point standings.

Monster Truck race day includes Trucks like Stinger Unleashed, War Wizard, Velociraptor, Rat Nasty, Loud and Dirty and Kamikazee. From 11:30 am to 1 pm, don't miss your chance to experience the thrill up close with Monster Truck rides! Buckle up and hold on tight for an adventure like no other. There will also be a pit party from 11:30-1 p.m., allowing fans to get up close with the Monster Trucks. The show itself begins at 2 p.m.

Tickets for Monster Truck Sunday are $25 for adults online in advance, or $30 at the track the day of the event. Youth from 6-12 are $12 online and $15 the day of the show. Kids five and under and parking are free at Seekonk Speedway. Gates will open at 11:30 a.m. for advanced ticket holders and 12 p.m. for those who purchase the day of the track.
