RHODE ISLAND SHRINERS JOIN NASCAR SATURDAY, FAST FRIDAY RETURNS AT SEEKONK SPEEDWAY THIS WEEK

SEEKONK, Mass. — Seekonk Speedway hits the middle of July this weekend with two more days of short-track racing in Massachusetts. On Fast Friday, six divisions return to the track as the season nears the halfway point. On NASCAR Saturday, the Rhode Island Shriners return to the Action Track of the East with their clowns for the annual Kids Trike Races, alongside all four NASCAR Saturday divisions, with some extra-distance racing on tap.

Fast Friday takes the green flag at 7 p.m., while NASCAR Saturday will begin at 6 p.m.

The Pro Stock second round of the Everett’s Triple Crown went right down to the wire last week, with Nick Lascuola holding off David Darling to capture his second win of the season. The two raced tightly over the final half of the extra-distance event, with Darling stalking the back bumper. Lascuola came out on top, but Darling has been impressive again this year, with three victories and a worst finish of third so far. These two aren’t the only to have success so far in 2026 - with Dylan Estrella also visiting Victory Lane. Vinnie Arrenegado Jr was impressive last week, on the podium for the first time this year. Mike Brightman has shown winning speed, and is inching closer to the checkered flag. Also look out for names like Mark Jenison, Colbey Fournier, Dick Benoit and others as the division goes back to a 40-lap feature this week.

The Late Models are coming off their 75-lap showdown last week, with Chase Belcher adding his name to the winners list. Through the first six races of their season, six different drivers have carried the checkered flag. That list includes Belcher, Richie Murray, Mark Jenison, Andrew Gomes, Ryan Flood and Manny Dias. All of these contenders will look to use this week’s 30-lap contest to get back to the top of the field - but there are many others who want to make it seven for seven. Look for defending champion Charlie Rose, Ryan Vanasse Jr, Luke Lebrun, Rey Lovelace and others to be contenders.

Sportsman competition went to Mike Henriques last week, as the graduate from Fast Friday was in Sportsman victory lane early in his Saturday career. Henriques will be back this week as the Sportsman get on the track for a 40-lap special contest in the Everett’s Auto Parts Anniversary Series. The only driver to win multiple Sportsman races has been Randy Moretti, who has two wins. Other winners this season include Doug Benoit, Nick Wood, Nick Brightman and Adam Pettey, outside of Henriques. All of these drivers will be contenders in the extra-distance showdown this week - which will also include names like Scott Serydynski Jr., Matt Talbot, Adam Giacomozzi, Jimmy “Pepe” Silvia, Kent Aspden III and many more.

The Sport Trucks had their first repeat of the season last week, with Ethan Heilborn capturing his second checkered flag of the year. Similar to some of the other NASCAR Saturday divisions, the Sport Trucks entered this past week with no one capturing more than one victory, already into the month of July. Winners other than Heilborn include Mike Duarte, Tim Bolger Jr., Richie Helger Jr., Mike Cavallaro and DJ Thibeault. When you look at drivers who haven’t won yet, three stick out as ones to watch going into this week - and all three are at the top of the championship standings. Back in the top-five last week were Scott Cestodio (points leader), Jake Vanada and Tommy Adams. Can one of them win this week, as the Sport Trucks roll into their 40-lap special in the Everett’s Auto Parts Anniversary Series?

Adding his name to the list of Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars winners in the history of Seekonk Speedway, Brian Wilkinson Jr. rocketed to the front last week. Wilkinson held off a hard charge from many other top contenders to capture the victory, becoming the fourth different winner of the season. Going into this week, there are others would love to add their name to the list in the 25-lap contest. Keep your eyes on Mason Tessier, Richie Helger Jr., Brody Wakefield, Dylan Calabro, Chase Silvia and many more as the Legends Cars return to headline Fast Friday.

Pure Stock racing went right down to the wire last week in a wild one that ended with Bryson Robidoux capturing his second straight victory. While he did that, Ethan Souza and Richie Johnson, the two most consistent drivers of the season so far who have won a race, joined him on the podium. Former champion Brent Robidoux was also back in the top-five, as he sits second behind Souza in the championship standings nearing the halfway point of the season. While these four may be the top-four early in the season, names like Zachary Keith, Peter Bleau, Bobby Bettencourt III, Crystal Murray and more want to join them in contention for race wins.

Mike Cavallaro has five victories in a row in the One Way Recycling Crown Vics, showing his dominance. Heading into another race, is there someone who can take him down? Nic Lecuyer and John Lallier joined him on the podium last week. Expect Tyrese Mello to return this week, along with some others. There are many NASCAR Saturday contenders who are building Crown Vics and hoping to hit the track soon.

When you talk about success, Luka Dib is showing off. Dib has five consecutive wins in a competitive Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaw class, and looks to continue his run of glory this week in their 15-lap contest. Dib will continue to have his hands full with some of the best youth races around, including names like Zacarias Kelley, Ryder Aguiar, CJ Satterlund, Landon Heim, Nathan Zimmerman, Allyha DeSomma and more.

The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits will be back for their own 15-lap contest. Similar to the Outlaws, it’s mostly been one driver dominating this division - Landon Solomito. Landon won his fourth race of the season last week, holding off two other top contenders, Jace Chaber and Brooke Meyer to do it. Both of them would love to be in Victory Lane this week for the first time this season. Similar to them, names like Tobey Lecuyer, Brody Solomito, Elias Dib and more are expected to be contenders this Friday. 

The Sport 4 race last week went down to the final corner of the final lap, with Jacob Budzyna capturing his first win of the season. Budzyna had to hold off a hard charging Samatha Sleboda, who challenged him for the top spot for most of the race, but had to settle for the runner-up spot. Previous season winner David Westgate and Arthur Meack followed in fourth and fifth. With three winners so far this season, if you’re looking for a new one this week, look for Sleboda to try and accomplish the task.
