The road to becoming a Seekonk Speedway champion for Jake Vanada started many years ago. After over a decade of trying, racing in multiple different divisions, Vanada was finally on top at Seekonk Speedway in 2025.
Vanada won the Sport Truck championship in the Sunoco Drive For The Cup, holding off Radical Rick Martin, who had won the last three titles, to accomplish the task on the final night of racing.
The 2025 season was filled with consistency for Vanada. He started off the year with a few mechanical gremlins, but put those aside by the middle of the summer, and started a tear of consistency to enter the playoffs with a strong chance. In the final few weeks, it was clear Vanada was going to be a major player on the final night, and he was. He did everything he needed to do to win the title in the 35-lap season-finale.
“It came down to the track position like it always does,” Vanada said of the final race. “Somehow, it just worked out and the stars aligned for us. When you’re dealing with a guy like Rick Martin, racing for 51 years, it’s hard to hold him off. This year, it was a look at all of my racing career.. keep digging. Take the punches, give some, and hope you give more than you can take. We just keep going, and here we are. I have a great crew, an amazing family, and a great sponsor.”
Seekonk Speedway congratulates Jake Vanada and his entire team on capturing the 2025 NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Racing Series championship in the Sport Truck division.
