SEEKONK, Mass. — Week two of the Seekonk Speedway season is set for this Saturday, May 10, as the Action Track of the East goes under the lights with NASCAR divisions for the first time in 2025. The night will include the first event of the season for the East Coast Towing & Recovery Spectator Drags, the start of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series in the Sport Trucks and for the Pro Stocks, Late Models and Helger’s Sportsman.
Following the action opening day, all four NASCAR divisions are ready to battle - with some drivers looking to keep their strong start to the season going and others looking to turn their fortune around from their week one finish.
The Pro Stocks saw Vinnie Arrenegado capture his first career win. The driver of the No. 17 won the Rookie of the Year in the Pro Stocks last year, finishing second seven different times during the season, but unable to capture his first career win. On Sunday afternoon, Arrenegado finished second on the track, but after the winner didn’t pass inspection, he was awarded the win with his second-place finish. Entering week two, he wants to get the trophy on the track this time. He spent much of the race battling with defending champion Dylan Estrella, who returns in week two looking for his first win of the year. Other names to watch include Bobby Pelland III, Mark Jenison, rookie Jacob “Rowdy” Burns, Colbey Fournier and more for Saturday’s 40-lap feature.

The Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series kicks-off with Saturday’s 35-lap Sport Truck feature. The Triple Crown Series format, similar to the playoffs, includes four drivers racing for the Triple Crown title on the final night in August. The drivers who make up the Triple Crown Final Four will be the winners from the first two Triple Crown events and the two highest in points in those two events. That means this Saturday’s race winner will be locked into the August finale, as long as they run at least three Truck events outside of the Triple Crown before August 9.
Opening day’s 25-lap feature saw veteran Mike Cavallaro capture his 66th career track victory in the Sport Trucks. He jumped out front early and left no question about it when it came down to the final few laps. He was chased to the line by Rick Martin, who has 113 career track wins and has won the last three Sport Truck championships. Tim Bolger Jr., who won the Everett’s Triple Crown title last year, finished in third. Those three will be back along with Jake Vanada, who had a motor expire in his Truck in practice on opening day and used a borrowed ride to finish fourth. Names like Ethan Heilborn, Amy Helger, DJ Thibeault, Dane Saritelli and others will be ones to watch this week in the extra-distance main event.

The Helger’s Sportsman field was dominated by Scott Serydynski Jr on opening day, but it’s rare a driver dominates two weeks in a row in Seekonk’s Sportsman class. One of the most exciting divisions in all of New England, the Sportsman will hit the track for 25 laps again this Saturday. The Lambert brothers are going to do their best to knock Serydynski off, with both Jeremy and Colby finishing right behind him on the podium in race one. They are joined by names like Doug Benoit, defending champion Adam Pettey, Austin Flanagan and others entering week two of the season.
After a wildly competitive first Late Model race of the season, round two should see much of the same. It looked like Charlie Rose was going to dominate the first 30-lap event of the season on opening day, but problems sidelined him from the lead before halfway. That left the door open for defending champion Luke LeBrun to come through and capture the checkered flag in the first race of the year. It was LeBrun, Chase Belcher and Bobby Pelland on the podium. Will any of those three be back there this week? Or will someone like Josh Hedges, Richie Murray, Mark Jenison or others find their way onto the podium or in Victory Lane?
The East Coast Towing & Recovery Spectator Drags also open their season Saturday, the first of 10 races for this division. One of the more exciting classes, the Spectator Drags allow you to bring your car straight off the streets onto the track.

Saturday’s schedule includes the pit area opening at 2 p.m. for competitors. Practice will begin at 4 p.m. and racing will begin at 6 p.m. Heat racing will start the night, with the Spectator Drags running after heats, followed by NASCAR divisions running feature events.
