SEEKONK, Mass. — Vinnie Arrenegado finished second seven times during the 2024 season, winning the Rookie of the Year, but failing to capture his first career Pro Stock win. On Sunday, the opener of the Seekonk Speedway season ended all of that talk.
Arrenegado rocketed to the front and came out on top of the competition after 40 laps of racing.
Nick Lascuola, a former Legends Cars champion, won the main event on the track, but did not pass post-race inspection.
Arrenegado and defending champion Dylan Estrella battled hard for the second spot over the second half of the race - in a race that ended up being the battle for the lead. Arrenegado came out on top by a short distance, enough to grab the feature win. The former two-time Late Model champion finally has a Pro Stock trophy to take home.
Estrella finished second, with Bobby Pelland III wrapping a day of double-duty with third-place finishes in both the Late Models and the Pro Stocks. Dave Darling was fourth and Mark Jenison fifth. Colbey Fournier, Jacob Burns, Andrew Gomes, Mike Brightman and Jeramee Lillie finished the top-10.
The Pro Stocks will be back on track on Saturday, May 10, for another 40-lap feature. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest news and updates.
