SEEKONK, Mass. — Heading into a new year, the 81st in the history of Seekonk Speedway, officials announced today an increase in both the NASCAR weekly purse and point fund for the new year.

Up $500 from last year, Seekonk’s premier Pro Stock division will now pay $2,000 to win a normal 40-lap feature. Triple Crown 60-lap Pro Stock races will pay $2,200 to win, while the 75 Pro Stock contests jump to $2,500 to win.

The Late Model field also sees an increase in their feature races - now paying $1,000 to win a 30-lap contest, $1,200 to win a 45-lap Triple Crown race and $1,500 for the special 75-lap event.

Seekonk Speedway’s other two NASCAR divisions, the Sportsman and the Sport Trucks, have also earned bumps in the purse for the 2026 season. Sportsman 25-lap races will now pay $500 to win, while 35-lap races are $600 to win and the special 40-lap race $700 to win. The Sport Trucks will now pay $450 to win for a 25-lap race, $550 for a 35-lap race and $650 for a 40-lap race.

“Our dedicated competitors deserve this,” David Alburn, Competition Director at Seekonk Speedway, said. “We understand it takes hard work ,dedication and many resources to supply funds to race weekly, racing hard on the track from May into the end of September, and in the chase for the championship. Our teams do it all to get their cars to the track every week, we increased our purses in the last several years from the backup, now we are topping it off "with more icing on the cake" with higher winner payouts to all the NASCAR Saturday divisions in all their big races. The Point fund totals are also rising for drivers who compete for the championship in the four NASCAR divisions. Alburn said, "we want to also reward the teams that never give up and give their all to the end".

The Pro Stock championship will now pay $8,000 combined between funds from NASCAR and Seekonk. In 2025, the Pro Stock championship paid $6,000 to win. Second in Pro Stock points will pay $4,000, up from $3,000. The Late Model championship will now pay $4,000 to win and $2,000 for second, up from $3,000 and $1,500 from 2025.  Sportsman contenders are chasing a championship bonus of $2,000, up from $1,500, while the Sport Trucks will pay $1,800 to win, up from $1,400. Funds from NASCAR come through the weekly racing series operational department, as Seekonk Speedway remains a NASCAR sanctioned track going into the new racing season.
