SEEKONK, Mass. — The battle to the finish of Saturday’s 30-lap NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Late Model feature at Seekonk Speedway once again kept fans on the edge of their seats. Luke LeBrun and Charlie Rose duked it out over the final half of the race, and before a caution with just three laps to go, it looked like LeBrun was going to be in control for his second win in the first three races.
But, the late caution gave Rose the opportunity he needed.
On the restart with three laps to go, Rose on the bottom, LeBrun on the top, fans were cheering wildly as the two battled it out. In the final corner, they made a little bit of contact, but it was Rose who came out on top, edging LeBrun at the line for his first win of the season. Rose had a mechanical failure leading week one, finished second after leading many laps in week two, and won in week three.
LeBrun would hang on for second, still a strong run for him. After winning the week before, Jacob “Rowdy” Burns brought the No. 30 home in third, with Andrew Gomes and points leader Chase Belcher rounding out the top-five.
Mark Jenison finished sixth, followed by Richie Murray, Connor Souza, Tyler Lallier and Ryan Souliere.
The Late Models will be back on the track on Saturday, May 31 at 6PM for another feature event. That will be round one of their Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series, set for 45 laps.
