SEEKONK SPEEDWAY TO CROWN EVERETT’S AUTO PARTS TRIPLE CROWN CHAMPIONS AUGUST 7-8

SEEKONK, Mass. — The time has come for one of the massive weekends of racing for the year at Seekonk Speedway. The Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series will conclude over Fast Friday and NASCAR Saturday on August 7 and 8, with four drivers from each division battling it out to capture the Everett’s Triple Crown championship in their respective division.

Drivers were placed into their respective Final Four (final two in the One Way Recycling Crown Vics) based off their performance in the first two Triple Crown events. The winners of both of those races qualify, along with the two highest point totals from those nights for the final two spots. If the same driver won both, the top three point totals have advanced into the finals. In order to win the Triple Crown, you must become the highest finishing of the eligible contenders in the racing event during the weekend. 

In the Pro Stocks, four drivers will battle it out led by nine-time track champion and multiple-time Triple Crown champion David Darling. He skipped the last weekly 40-lap contest to celebrate a vacation, but Darling will be back looking to pounce in a race he has historically been dominant in - an extra-distance main event. Darling is known for having a knack for the long races to save his equipment and be there at the end. We will see if he can do it again. Nick Lascuola won the second Triple Crown event to qualify, holding off Darling to do it. As the only multiple-time Pro Stock winner this year other than Darling, Lascuola is primed and ready to not only chase the Triple Crown - but the overall division title in the Sunoco Drive For The Cup later this year. Two points contenders entering the finals include Mike Brightman and Vinnie Arrenegado. Brightman showed impressive speed last time out, tracking down Jacob Burns and nearly earning his first win of the season. Brightman will certainly be a threat to grab the Triple Crown with the No. 27. Arrenegado hasn’t put together the most stout of years, but he’s a veteran driver, who knows how to get the job done. He’s quietly sitting fourth in the overall championship standings, primed for a run to the end of the year in August and September. Can he start it off by winning the Triple Crown title?

The two Late Model events were won by Richie Murray and Andrew Gomes, qualifying them for the Triple Crown Final Four alongside Chase Belcher and Luke Lebrun. Unfortunately, Gomes is heading off to school, which will eliminate him from contention, as he will not be racing. That leaves Murray, Belcher and Lebrun to slug it out for the Triple Crown title. All three of these drivers have shown the speed to be able to accomplish the task. Murray has been consistent, especially of late, and will be ready to try and pounce. Belcher finally scored his first win of the season two races ago, and has been on top of his game again this year, currently second in the championship battle. Lebrun, even though he missed opening day, he has crawled his way back into a shot at making the championship Final Four for the overall season. All three of these drivers will be there in the final laps to decide it in the 45-lap contest.

There are no surprises in the Final Four contenders for the Sportsman Triple Crown if you have been watching this division all year. Adam Pettey and Doug Benoit captured the two Triple Crown race victories. Pettey does not qualify, as drivers must run at least three races, plus the three Triple Crown events, to be eligible to race for it. 

That leaves Randy Moretti, Nick Brightman and Nick Wood to join Benoit based off their earned points. Benoit and Moretti are the only two-time Sportsman winners this season, with Benoit fresh off his 40-lap victory last time out. Moretti will be going into the Triple Crown finale full speed after missing the last race due to mechanical issues. Both of these drivers are great picks to win it. Brightman and Wood have both been to Victory Lane this season, and have shown speed all year. They both will be in contention when the second half of the race comes around, and with 35 laps to battle it out, any of the four of them can win it. 

Ethan Heilborn, Mike Duarte, Scott Cestodio and Jake Vanada will battle it out for the Everett’s Triple Crown title in the Sport Trucks. All of them have won races this season except Vanada, the defending division champion. Although he hasn’t won, Vanada has been around the top-five every single week, and will be a major threat to capture the title. He will have his work cut out for him against Cestodio, the points leader, who finally broke into Victory Lane the last time out. Duarte and Heilborn have both been hot and cold this season, but Heilborn is the only Sport Truck driver who can say he has two victories in 2026. All four of them are certainly major threats to win it.  

On Fast Friday, In the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars, Jacob “Rowdy” Burns won both of the first two Triple Crown races, two of his five season wins so far. He will be joined in the Final Four by Brody Wakefield, Chase Silvia and Richie Helger Jr. This group includes a mix of former champions, winners and rising stars. Burns is one of the clear favorites, and has shown time and time again he can win when it matters. Helger, the 2024 division champion, has been consistent all year, always around the top-five. It may take a feature win to capture the Triple Crown, and Helger certainly has the ability to do it. Silvia nearly won the last feature event, being the dominant force for much of it. Although he lost it on a late restart, Silvia is looking to use what he learned last week to his advantage. And you can’t forget Wakefield - one of the sleeper stories of the season. He has been impressive at times, racing for wins, and been off his game a few other weeks. It’s the perfect week for Wakefield to return to his prime form and notch his first career win en route to the Triple Crown. 

Back in the first Pure Stock Everett’s Triple Crown event, Bobby Bettencourt III scored his first career win, one that was filled with emotion. He will be joined by both Robidoux brothers - Brent and Bryson - and Ethan Souza - in the battle to capture the Triple Crown title. Bettencourt has struggled since his first career win, fighting off mechanical gremlins with the car. Hopefully for him, they have those figured out for the 30-lap finale contest. Brent, a former champion of the division, hasn’t won yet this season, but has been incredibly consistent, in the top-five weekly. Bryson captured his first career win last year, and has two more 2026 checkered flags to add to it. And Souza, the current division points leader, wants to leave with the Triple Crown title. Who will be able to do it?

The One Way Recycling Crown Vic Cruisers has just two drivers eligible to race for the crown. They include Mike Cavallaro and John Lallier. Cavallaro won both of the events to qualify, two of his six feature wins in eight events so far in 2026. Lallier has finished on the podium in four of the last five races, and is gaining more and more speed weekly. Can he knock the veteran off the top to win the Triple Crown title?

Dave Westgate and Jacob Budzyna captured the two Sport 4 Triple Crown race wins, launching them into the finals to battle Samantha Sleboda and Arthur Meack. When you look at the entire Sport 4 season, these have been the top four contenders most of the year, outside of a few others. Westgate is a former division champion. Budzyna is a rising driver who captured his first career win last year, and second this year. Sleboda missed one week earlier this season, but has been incredibly consistent, and has a feature win. And Meack leads the entire division with three checkered flags to his credit in 2026. If it is going to take someone winning the race to win the Triple Crown, which is likely, all four of them are great picks. 

Defending Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandit track champion Landon Solomito has been the dominant force in the Bandits again this season, and enters as the clear favorite for the Triple Crown. Solomito will be joined by three of Seekonk’s most talented youth racers - Elias Dib, Tobey Lecuyer, and his own brother, Brody, to battle it out. In the 15-lap Triple Crown finale, the driver who beats the other three wins. Only Landon has been to Victory Lane this season, and it may take a feature win to accomplish the task. Brody has been gaining more and more experience every time out, inching closer to the podium. Dib and Lecuyer have both been picking up steam as the summer hits full speed, and both appear they are just one step away from their first career win. Can they do it and win the Triple Crown title all at once?

Luka Dib will chase his eighth consecutive Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaw victory as one of the Final Four Triple Crown drivers in the Outlaws division. Dib has been on fire - but will need to hold off three hungry challengers - Ryder Aguiar, Zac Kelley and Landon Heim - who all made it there by points. Inside his seven straight wins streak he is riding, Dib won both Triple Crown events. The only other season winner in the Outlaws is Kelley, who captured the checkered flag in week one. But, Aguiar and Heim want to add their name to the list. While the four battle it out, there are many storylines to follow in this division heading into the Triple Crown finale.
