ONE MORE RACE: RICK MARTIN LOOKS FOR FOURTH STRAIGHT SPORT TRUCK TITLE IN HIS FINAL RIDE

SEEKONK, Mass. — When Radical Rick Martin first started racing, 51 years ago, he never would have thought he’d win many races, nevermind championships.

Fast-forward to the final race of 2025 this weekend at Seekonk Speedway and Martin enters with 117 wins and eight drivers championships at Seekonk Speedway.

This Saturday’s 35-lap season-finale for the Sport Truck division will be the final ride for Rick Martin in full-time racing action. The proclaimed “GOAT” of racing at the Action Track of the East for his era will take one final shot at another win and a championship.

Martin has eight drivers championships at Seekonk Speedway entering his final ride, and nine overall, one as a car owner. Martin will look to make it 10 total this Saturday. It would be his fourth straight Sport Truck title behind the wheel of the No. 14, if he is able to accomplish the task.

Martin won his first title in 1991 in the Pro Stock division. He followed it up with additional Pro Stock titles in 1996, 1998 and 1999. Martin’s Sport Truck titles have come in 2010, 2022, 2023 and 2024. Martin was inducted into the Wall of Fame on championship night in 2024, just hours before capturing another title. He was also inducted into the New England Auto Racers Hall of Fame in 2024.

“I’d just like to thank everybody along the way that’s kept me going, because nobody could do this by themselves. I’ve got a great team that works on the truck and all of the cars I have driven over the years. They were every week with me and will be right down to the end.”

Rick has some family illness situations he will be attending to, but will still be keeping track of racing. Who knows - maybe a return down the line for part-time competition will be possible.

Rick wishes to thank his dedicated team members, partners and especially his loyal fans over the years for their support.
