BENOIT GRABS SPORTSMAN WIN, TAKING SPOT IN CHAMPIONSHIP FOUR

SEEKONK, Mass. — The first week of the Sunoco Drive For The Cup wasn’t kind to Doug Benoit, but he made up for it in a big way Saturday night at Seekonk Speedway. Benoit passed Cody Tripp for the top spot and never looked back, winning the 30-lap Sportsman showdown and taking with it a spot in the Championship Four.

Benoit bested Tripp, who scored his best career finish, in second. Colby Lambert finished in third, with Adam Pettey and Nick Wood rounding out the top-five. Mike Mitchell, Rob Kohler, Cody Moreau, Nick Brightman and John Berchem finished the top-10.

The Final Four Championship Contenders in the Sportsman will be Adam Pettey, Colby Lambert, Jeremy Lambert and Doug Benoit.
