SEEKONK, Mass. — The second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series in the Sport 4 division went right down to the final laps on Friday night. AJ Manuel, running a part-time schedule this year, took over the top spot from Mikey LeFort III on a restart, but then had to hold off some hard charges to hang on for the feature win.
Manuel had to contest with two-time season winner Richie Johnson, who tried everything to get around in the final laps, but wasn’t able to accomplish the task. Manuel took down the win, with Johnson running second, another strong podium run for the points leader.
LeFort III rebounded from some mid-race contact and was still able to return to the podium in a strong third. Samantha Sleboda finished in the fourth spot a week off her first win of the year, while Arthur Meack rebounded from having to go to the rear during the race to finish fifth.
Jacob Budznya, Christine Cavallaro, Matt Menders, Joe Mello and James Sullivan finished the top-10.
The Sport 4s will be back on the track on Friday, July 18 for another main event. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media.
