SEEKONK, Mass. — After a successful start to the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandit season with multiple strong runs, Landon Solomito parked his car in Victory Lane on Friday night. For the first time in his young racing career, Solomito came out on top in the 15-lap race for Seekonk’s youngest groups of racers.
He battled Carl Satterlund Jr. hard for the top spot, but once he got out front, there was no catching the No. 66. Solomito adds his name to the list of winners in the 80-year history of the Action Track of the East, joining another Solomito, Timmy, who won previously on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.
Solomito was chased to the line by two other top contenders - Satterlund and Jace Chaber. Entering Friday night, Chaber had won the first two events of the season. Landon Heim and Brooke Meyer finished in fourth and fifth.
The remainder of the field included Ryan Iannarelli, Mackenzie Farpelha, Elias Dib and James Goode.
The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits will return to the track on Friday, June 27, for another main event. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media.
