SEEKONK, Mass. — Zac Kelley has been racing at Seekonk Speedway for many years. Friday night, he finally parked his familiar No. 29 in Victory Lane for the first time. As one of Seekonk’s longest tenured youth racers, Kelley has been close before, but had never carried the checkered flag. Friday night, he went home with the trophy after 15 laps in the opener of the Sunoco Drive For The Cup.
The first playoff contender across the stripe was Ryder Aguiar, who finished second. Allyha DeSomma followed in third, just inches behind Aguiar. Luka Dib and Mason Silva finished fourth and fifth.
Vincent Sarro, Brady Connors, Jordan Duquette, Bro Jordan and Nathan Zimmerman finished the top-10 in the race.
After one week of playoff action, DeSomma leads the playoff standings with eight, while Aguiar has six, Silva four, Sarro three, Duquette two and Bernier one.
The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws will be back on track on Friday, September 12, for the second round of the Sunoco Drive For The Cup. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media.
