JENISON USES THE HIGH GROOVE TO GET BACK TO LATE MODEL VICTORY LANE

SEEKONK, Mass. — Former Late Model champion Mark Jenison used the outside lane for much of Saturday’s 30-lap main event, and it worked out in his favor. Jenison held off a strong drive by Manny Dias to score the Late Model win in the second week of NASCAR Local Racing Series action on NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour J&R Precast 150 night.

The Move of the Race: For much of the 30-lap contest, Jenison and Dias raced side-by-side, keeping a packed house of fans on the edge of their seats. Jenison had the groove he was used to running, the outside, and used his experience to his advantage. He drove away in the final laps to get back to Victory Lane.

The Story: Dias, running a new car to him this season, was impressive to come home second. Richie Murray had trouble in his qualifying heat, rebounded, and finished third. Opening day winner Ryan Flood (fourth) and returning contender and former champion Luke Lebrun (5th) followed across the line.

The Top-10: Behind them in sixth was Ryan Vanasse Jr., followed by Charlie Rose, Chase Belcher, Rey Lovelace and Nick Uhrig Jr.

Look Out For Next Time Out: The Late Models return to the track for round one of the Everett’s Triple Crown Series on Saturday, May 30, set for 45 laps.

I guess that looks like a great run by Jenison, especially using the high groove to work back into victory lane. Racing is always more exciting when a driver finds a line that others are not using as well and turns it into momentum. Late Model races can come down to patience, timing, and trusting the car when the track changes. I like stories like this because they show how much strategy is behind what looks like pure speed from the stands. For anyone who follows motorsports and vehicle tech, resources like https://onstar.pissedconsumer.com/review.html can be useful too. Solid win and smart driving.
