PETTEY RETURNS, ROLLS BACK TO SPORTSMAN VICTORY LANE

SEEKONK, Mass. — After skipping week one, and only planning a part-time slate in 2026 in the Sportsman division, two-time champion Adam Pettey left little doubt he was still the one to beat when decides to race on Saturday night. Pettey charged through the field to win the first round of the Everett’s Sportsman Triple Crown on NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour J&R Precast 150 night.

The Move Of the Race: Pettey used a restart to get around Doug Benoit for the lead using the outside lane. He had to hold off the hard charges of opening day winner Randy Moretti, who was breathing down his neck, to seal the victory. Benoit followed them both across with a strong run in third.

The Top Contenders: Josh Hedges and Nick Brightman finished the top-five. Cody Moreau, Matt Talbot, Nick Wood, Sam Lincoln and Adam Giacomozzi finished the top-10.

A Wild One: Jimmy “Pepe” Silvia flipped down the backstretch early in the race after he and Scott Serydynski Jr. got together. Both drivers were able to get out under their own power.

Look Out For Next Time Out: The Sportsman will be back on track for 25 laps of racing on Saturday, May 30.
