SEEKONK, Mass. — After a season filled with ups and downs, Isaiah Newcomb was back on top Friday night at Seekonk Speedway. In the second round of the Sunoco Drive For the Cup, Newcomb bested all playoff contenders to take his first victory of the season in the No. 22. The former division champion found himself in a heated battle with Jacob Burns, but came out on top after tossing the lead back and forth.
Burns finished in second, the highest finishing playoff car. Mason Tessier, another non-playoff contender, finished in third. Josh Parsons and Chase Silvia followed in fourth and fifth.
The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars division will return to the track on Friday, September 19, for the third round of the Sunoco Drive For The Cup. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media.
