SEEKONK, Mass. — Ethan Heilborn may have had a tough start to the Sport Truck season, but he turned it all around on Saturday night in the first race of the Everett’s Triple Crown Series for the NASCAR Local Racing Series division.
The Story: Heilborn had a rough first two weeks, looking for speed in the Truck. In week three, he started on the outside pole, and rolled to the lead quickly. He had to hold off defending champion Jake Vanada, who made a few charges at him over the second half of the race. But, when it mattered most, Heilborn steered away to victory.
The Top Finishers: Vanada followed with a strong second-place finish, his best run of the young season. DJ Thibeault worked his way up into third at the end of the extra-distance 35-lap race. Colton Teague was fourth, and Scott Cestodio in fifth when the checkered flag went in the air. Cestodio has been inside the top-five in all three races so far in 2026.
One To Watch: Heilborn won the Everett’s Triple Crown title in 2025, and was in contention for the division championship going into the Sunoco Drive For The Cup. Appearing back on track, Heilborn will be one Sport Truck contender for fans to watch all summer.
The Sport Trucks will be back on the track for another 25-lap showdown on Saturday, June 13. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, and tickets to all upcoming events, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com.
