LECUYER EARNS FIRST CAREER WIN; PLAYOFF CONTENDERS STRIKE IN FAST FRIDAY OPENER

The Sunoco Drive For The Cup opened Friday night at Seekonk Speedway with championship contenders battling for valuable playoff points and one rising star celebrating a career-first victory.

Tobey Lecuyer captured his first Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandit win, while Luka Dib added his ninth Bandolero Outlaw victory of the season. Mike Cavallaro, Samantha Sleboda, Mason Tessier and Richie Johnson also visited Victory Lane during an action-packed night at the Action Track of the East.

TOBEY LECUYER FINDS BANDOLERO BANDIT VICTORY LANE FOR THE FIRST TIME

A late-race pass propelled Tobey Lecuyer to his first career Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandit victory in the 15-lap feature.

Lecuyer started on the front row and led the opening two circuits before Elias Dib took command. An early incident in the middle of the pack ended the night for championship leader Landon Solomito and Joseph Bryant.

Once racing resumed, Lecuyer, Dib and Jace Chaber battled for the top spot. Dib paced the field from laps three through 12, but Lecuyer made his move on lap 13 and reclaimed the lead. He held off a hard-charging Chaber over the final circuits to secure the milestone victory.

Chaber finished second and collected the most playoff points on the night. Dib crossed the line third, followed by Brody Solomito and Lance Mortland III.

LUKA DIB ADDS NINTH BANDOLERO OUTLAW WIN

Luka Dib wasted little time proving he remains the driver to beat in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaw division.

The opening lap collected multiple cars in turn three, sidelining several competitors. Once the race settled into a rhythm, Landon Heim moved past CJ Satterlund and led from laps five through seven.

Dib quickly closed the distance, made the pass for the lead and drove away from the field. The victory was his ninth of the 2026 season and gave him a strong start to the Sunoco Drive For The Cup.

Heim finished second, followed by Allyha DeSomma, Satterlund, Ryder Aguiar and Zacarias Kelley.

MIKE CAVALLARO SCORES EIGHTH CROWN VIC VICTORY

Mike Cavallaro opened the One Way Recycling Crown Vic Cruisers playoffs with his eighth victory of the season.

Cavallaro avoided trouble when front-row starters John Lallier and Nic Lecuyer tangled on the opening start. Lallier restarted from the pole and raced underneath Cavallaro for several laps before Cavallaro completed the pass and began to pull away.

Behind the leader, John Dulac worked his way around Lallier for second but ran out of time to challenge Cavallaro for the victory.

Dulac finished second, Lallier crossed the line third and Anthony Giampapa completed the top four.

SAMANTHA SLEBODA MAKES LATE PASS FOR SPORT 4 VICTORY

Samantha Sleboda made her move when it mattered most, taking the lead late and driving to victory in the opening race of the Sport 4 playoffs.

Former feature winner Antonio Mancini started from the pole and controlled the race through lap 18. Sleboda moved into second on lap two and patiently worked to erase Mancini’s advantage.

After chasing down the No. 24, Sleboda made the winning pass and pulled away in the closing laps. It was her second victory of the season and earned the No. 4 team valuable playoff points in the championship battle.

Points leader Arthur Meack finished second, with Mancini third, Christine Cavallaro fourth and Daniel Hayes fifth.

MASON TESSIER WINS INTENSE LEGENDS PLAYOFF OPENER

The opening round of the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars playoffs came down to the final lap—and the final few corners.

Mason Tessier emerged from a thrilling battle to capture his second victory of the season.

Dylan Calabro dominated much of the 25-lap feature, leading the opening 20 circuits. Jacob “Rowdy” Burns charged from the rear of the field and took the lead on lap 21, but Richie Helger Jr. quickly joined the fight.

Helger officially led lap 23 before Burns reclaimed the top spot on lap 24. With the leaders battling in the closing circuits, Tessier timed his move perfectly, surged to the front and took the checkered flag.

Tessier finished ahead of Burns. Chase Silvia originally crossed the line third but refused post-race inspection, moving Helger into the third position. Calabro and Justin Leduc completed the official top five.

RICHIE JOHNSON OPENS PURE STOCK PLAYOFFS IN VICTORY LANE

Richie Johnson began the 2026 Pure Stock season with a victory in his first career start in the division. The reigning Sport 4 champion returned to Victory Lane at the perfect time, winning the opening race of the Sunoco Drive For The Cup.

Johnson raced through the field and took the lead on lap 14 after Crystal Murray experienced trouble while leading and was forced to retire from the event.

A late restart gave Johnson’s challengers one final opportunity, but the driver of the No. 8 held them off and secured his second Pure Stock victory.

Playoff contender Ethan Souza finished second. Peter Bleau charged from deep in the field to take third, followed by Bryson Robidoux and Bobby Bettencourt III.

The Sunoco Drive For The Cup is officially underway, and every lap matters as Seekonk Speedway’s championship contenders continue their pursuit of a 2026 track title.
