SEEKONK SPEEDWAY POSTPONES DAV CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND TO OCTOBER 2-3

SEEKONK, Mass. — Seekonk Speedway officials announced Thursday that D. Anthony Venditti Championship Weekend has been postponed to Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3 due to incoming inclement weather.

With a coastal storm expected to impact New England this weekend, track officials feel moving the entire weekend is best for competitors and fans alike.

Fast Friday championship racing will now take place on Friday, October 2, where six champions will be crowned beginning at 7 p.m. The conclusion of the NASCAR Saturday season has moved to Saturday, October 3, with all four NASCAR divisions crowning their champions on Bay Coast Bank night, which will begin at 6 p.m. 

“We look forward to some bright sunshine and two beautiful fall evenings championship racing under the lights October 2 and 3,” David Alburn, Competition Director, said. “Many of our championship battles are going right down to the final lap of the final race, and we can’t wait to see who comes away with the championships for the 81st season of racing here at Seekonk Speedway.”

Fans can purchase tickets for championship weekend online at SeekonkSpeedway.com. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits and Outlaws, Sport 4s, Santos Recycling Pure Stocks, One Way Recycling Crown Vic Cruisers and Nick’s Pit Stop Legends will crown their champions Friday. The Pro Stocks, Late Models, Sportsman and Sport Trucks will crown champions on Saturday.
