SEEKONK, Mass. — Defending Seekonk Speedway Late Model champion Luke LeBrun was back on top Saturday night at the Action Track of the East.
LeBrun started sixth in the 30-lap contest, one that went the entire distance without a caution flag. That worked perfectly for LeBrun, who charged up the outside lane to get to the front, then drove around Mark Jenison for the lead and never looked back.
LeBrun’s victory comes after a few weeks of struggles for the No. 27, but the defending champion seems to have righted the ship.
Mark Jenison returned to the Late Model podium in the runner-up spot, followed by Chase Belcher, who also worked his way up through the field to finish third. Connor Souza and Richie Murray rounded out the top-five after 30 laps.
Brittany Campbell, Bobby Pelland III, Josh Hedges, Andrew Gomes and Charlie Rose finished the top-10.
The Late Models will be back on the track for the finale of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series, set for 45 laps, on Saturday, August 9. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media.
