SEEKONK SPEEDWAY SET TO ROAR TO LIFE WITH MID WEEK MADNESS JUNE 25

Updated: Jun 24

SEEKONK, Mass. — The annual mid-week showdown at Seekonk Speedway is here, with a different twist for 2025. This Wednesday night, June 25, the Action Track of the East will light up again for a special race event with both the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series and American-Canadian Tour coming to town.

Both divisions will compete in a 125-lap contest, with racing action set to begin at 6:30 p.m.

The Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series event enters the third-mile ready for their fifth race of the season, marking the halfway point. The Mid Week Madness event, formerly known as Open Wheel Wednesday, is in its 20th season. The defending winner of the event is Teddy Hodgdon, driver of the No. 55.

Other former winners entered for Wednesday’s showdown include Matt Hirschman, who is coming off a NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour win at Seekonk in the J&R Precast 150 earlier this month. Hirschman has won the mid-week contest a record five times, including two of the last four.

Matt Swanson returns to Seekonk driving the No. 25 machine after winning the race in 2023. As of release, those are the only three drivers who will compete on Wednesday night that have previously won this $10,000 to win contest, which has been upped from 100 to 125 laps.

The full Modified entry list includes 28 cars as of posting - with names like Stephen Kopcik, Austin Beers, Chase Dowling, Craig Lutz, Ronnie Williams, Woody Pitkat, Jonathan McKennedy and more. Seekonk Speedway fans will recognize a few drivers - Colbey Fournier, a current NASCAR Pro Stock competitor, Kevin Folan, a former Pro Stock runner and Mike Mitchell, a part-time Street Stock competitor.

The American-Canadian Tour is coming off two events at Seekonk last year, set for their first of two again in 2025 on Wednesday night. The ACT Tour events always provide a mix of their series regulars going up against a contingent of Seekonk Speedway Late Model standouts. ACT will also be back for the Haunted Hundred in October.

Fans will be familiar with names like Dave Darling, Bobby Pelland III, Josh Hedges and Vinnie Arrenegado Jr., all looking to defend the home turf. They will go up against the best of the American-Canadian Tour including names like Jimmy Renfrew Jr., Kaiden Fisher, DJ Shaw, Gabe Brown and many more, including former Seekonk winner Kasey Beattie, the defending winner of this race.

Tickets for Mid Week Madness are available online now at SeekonkSpeedway.com. Tickets are $36 for adults in advance, $12 for children ages 6-12 and kids five and under and parking is free.

Qualifying heat races will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by feature action.
