SEEKONK, Mass. — The Action Track of the East will roar back to life again this Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27, as Seekonk Speedway celebrates the end of the month of June with two nights packed with racing action. The weekend is headlined by 10 divisions of short-track racing, including the Everett’s Auto Parts Pro Stock 75, a Late Model Everett’s Triple Crown event, and Triple Crown races for the Bandolero Bandits and Outlaws along with the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars.
Fast Friday racing begins at 7 p.m., while NASCAR Saturday takes the green flag at 6 p.m.
The Pro Stocks will be back on track for the Everett’s 75, with a smooth $2,500 to win on the line to the winner for the second time in three weeks. Last week, Nick Lascuola jumped out to the front of the field before halfway, and held off a returning Jacob “Rowdy” Burns and David Darling to capture his first win of the season. So far, Lascuola is the only winner in the new year not named Darling other than Dylan Estrella. Speaking of Darling, the defending and nine-time track champion is still looking for his 100th career victory. Is this the week? If it is, he will need to hold off Burns, Vinnie Arrenegado Jr., Estrella, Mike Brightman and many others in their extra-distance showdown. This is the first one of the Everett’s special events for the four NASCAR Saturday divisions. The Late Models, Trucks and Sportsman will also have extra-distance events courtesy of the celebration of Everett’s Auto Parts’ 75th anniversary.

The Late Models roll into their second round of the Triple Crown, set for 45 laps. Through the first four events of the season, this division has seen four different winners. Ryan Flood won on opening day, followed by Mark Jenison, Andrew Gomes and Manny Dias. If you’re looking for a few drivers who could make it five-for-five, check out defending champion Charlie Rose and young star Ryan Vanasse Jr. Both of them broke a streak last week, not finishing in the top-five, after doing so in the first three events, but they both continue to show the way in the point standings. Other names to watch include Richie Murray and Chase Belcher. For Belcher, the first four weeks of the season have not been up to his standards, so he is looking for rebound. Keep your eyes on young rising Rookie of the Year contenders Brenden LaBelle and Nick Uhrig Jr., along with Luke Lebrun, Rey Lovelace and many more in Saturday’s extra-distance showdown.
Sportsman competition has been fierce again this year. Doug Benoit added his first victory of the season last week in the second round of the Everett’s Triple Crown, holding off opening day winner and points leader Randy Moretti. The first month and a half of the season looks like it has belonged to Moretti, with multiple podium runs. But Benoit quietly sits just two points out of the championship lead, and some others trying to hunt them down. The Sportsman are back for 25 laps this week - with names like Nick Brightman, Nick Wood, Scott Serydynski Jr., Matt Talbot, Adam Giacomozzi and others ready to challenge for the trophy.

In the Sport Trucks, their season so far has proven to show a mix of different drivers with speed and in contention for the checkered flag. If you’re looking at feature winners - it’s been five in five events - with DJ Thibeault, Richie Helger Jr., Mike Duarte, Tim Bolger and Ethan Heilborn all carrying the checkered flag. With another 25-lap contest on the line this week, there are a few names to watch who have been consistently up front, but not left with a trophy. Scott Cestodio has been the most consistent of all, leading the championship standings in his first year taking over the No. 14. Jake Vanada, the defending champion, hasn’t been far behind. Look for those two, Tommy Adams, Danny Thibeault and Mike Cavallaro to be among the drivers trying to add their name to the list this week. Last weekend, Darryl Church started on the pole and led 25 laps - enough to win a normal feature. Unluckily for him, it was a Triple Crown, extra-distance event. Can he do it again this week in the normal lap distance?

The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars are back Friday night for the second round of the Everett’s Triple Crown Series. Jacob “Rowdy” Burns had a horrible week one, but he is batting 1000% since, winning three straight races. Can someone slow him down as they return to the extra-distance? Burns has surged into a tie for the championship lead with Richie Helger Jr., with Mason Tessier just four points back. Both Helger and Tessier have been extra consistent early in the year, always around the top-five when the checkered flag drops. Keep your eyes on names like Brody Wakefield, Brian Wilkinson Jr., Isaiah Newcomb, Chase Silvia, and defending champion Josh Parsons in their main event this Friday night. This will be the first of two Legends Cars points races in five nights, with the Nick Lascuola Racing Summer Showdown set for Wednesday, July 1, alongside the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and Granite State Pro Stock Series.
In Pure Stock competition, Bryson Robidoux added his name to the early season winners list week, becoming the fourth in the first four races of the season. Richie Johnson, Ethan Souza and Bobby Bettencourt III have all carried the checkered flag along with Bryson, and all four of them could become the first two-time season winner this week. It is likely they will need to fight names like Brent Robidoux, Crystal Murray, Zachary Keith, Peter Bleau and others - who will be looking to make it five winners in five events in their 25-lap feature.

The Sport 4 field saw an outside contender, Christian Herman, storm onto the scene to capture victory last week. Herman doesn’t plan on running every week, but it appears clear that when he shows up, he will be a threat to win. Arthur Meack and Samantha Sleboda both lead the championship standings in a tie so far this season. Sleboda hasn’t won, but has been super close. Meack has two victories, the first two races of the season, and has been consistent in all four races. Sleboda posted on social media that she wouldn’t compete this week, but will be back for the next scheduled event. This will mix things up in the point standings! The Sport 4s only other feature winner is former champion Dave Westgate. Can someone like Daniel Hayes, Jacob Budzyna or Christine Cavallaro capture the checkered flag this Friday night?
Crown Vic Cruisers action seems to run through six-time track champion Mike Cavallaro for now. He’s been to Victory Lane in the last three events, and in all three, had to work his way to the front and make the pass for the lead late. Dylan Cabral made his first start of the year last week, finishing second. The Crown Vic Cruisers field is expected to continue to grow as the season continues, with names like Tyrese Mello not far away from carrying their first checkered flag of the season.

The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaw field is chasing Luka Dib, but they aren’t giving up in their quest to defeat him. Dib has been to Victory Lane convincingly in the last three events, showing he is one of the true veterans of this youth racing class. But - there are many drivers - like Allyha DeSomma, Zacarias Kelley (feature winner this season), Ryder Aguiar, CJ Satterlund and others who have been gaining on it week after week. Going into their 15-lap race this week, which is the second round of their Everett’s Triple Crown Series, keep your eyes on names like Cameron Manion, McKinley Burrows, Nathan Zimmerman, Brady Connors and many more.
Similar to the Outlaws, the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits are back for their own Everett’s Triple Crown Series 15-lap race this Friday. Defending champion Landon Solomito has won two of the last three races and has been the top full-time contender so far this year. Mason Goodale, a part-time driver, has the other two feature wins. This week, watch Jace Chaber, Tobey Lecuyer, Elias Dib, Brody Solomito, Brooke Meyer and others in their quest to holding their first checkered flag of the year.
