PETTEY HOLDS OFF LAMBERT FOR SPORTSMAN WIN

SEEKONK, Mass. — Adam Pettey had his hands full in the final laps on Saturday night at Seekonk Speedway, but he was able to accomplish the goal of capturing another trophy after 25 laps in the Sportsman.

Pettey won the final race of the regular season in the Sportsman division, holding off a furious charge from Jeremy Lambert and his brother Colby to take the feature win.

The defending Sportsman champion looks primed to make a run for a repeat in September’s Sunoco Drive For The Cup.

Jeremy Lambert finished second, back on the podium for the second straight week, while his brother Colby followed to finish third. Doug Benoit and Sam Lincoln rounded out the top-five.

They were followed by Cody Tripp, Adam Giocomozzi, Crystal Serydynski, Cody Moreau and Nick Brightman.

The Sportsman will be back on track for the first race of the Sunoco Drive For The Cup on Saturday, September 6. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media.

This recap shows how tight and focused those final laps were, especially with Lambert pushing hard right to the end. I remember following race results like this during a busy week when I was dealing with my online Accounting exam and needed quick breaks to clear my head. Seeing Pettey hold his line under pressure says a lot about consistency. Moments like that are what make local racing fun to follow all season.

Watching Pettey hold off the Lambert brothers at Seekonk Speedway sounds like it was an intense race, and I loved how the article captured every close moment of those final laps. I actually used take my online class for me that time when I had a huge project deadline and wanted to catch the race live without missing anything. Reading this made me realize how much more exciting sports feel when you can fully focus and enjoy the action.
