SEEKONK, Mass. — Justin Menard came close to winning in the Pure Stocks last week, but this week, he found a way to seal the deal. Menard passed Bryson Robidoux for the lead and then held off the hard charges of multiple others to take the No. 67 to Victory Lane on Friday night in the final race of the Pure Stock regular season.
Menard had his hands full in the final laps, with Matt Talbot and Peter Bleau breathing down his neck. They battled to the finish for second, with Talbot besting Bleau for the spot. Brent Robidoux charged through to finish in fourth with polesitter Bryson Robidoux fifth.
Rookie of the Year contender Zachary Keith finished sixth, followed by Crystal Murray, Ethan Souza, Bobby Bettencourt III and Danny Massa.
Robidoux, looking for his second straight title, used his season championship lead to earn three bonus points leading into the playoffs. He will be joined by Souza, Henriques, Talbot, Keith and Cordeira to decide the title in September.
The Pure Stocks return to the track for race one of the Sunoco Drive For the Cup on Friday, September 5. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest news and updates.

Reading about Justin Menard nailing that Pure Stock win at Seekonk and holding off the pack reminded me of how thrilling community racing is, especially when local drivers fight hard every lap. It took me back to finals week in college when I wished someone could Finish my online calculas class because I was so wiped from late nights and cheering on friends at weekend races balance is a real grind.
