SEEKONK, Mass. — After the finish to the 2024 season Mike Cavallaro had, you knew he was going to come out of the box strong to open the 2025 campaign at Seekonk Speedway.
Cavallaro scored career win number 66 in the first race of the season, holding off the charges of defending champion Rick Martin and Tim Bolger Jr. to capture the victory.
Cavallaro certainly knows his way around the third-mile. Inside the top-five on the all-time wins list at the Action Track of the East, Cavallaro finds himself at the front of the pack often. He jumped out to the lead on lap three and never looked back from there. In a race that went green over the stretch run, Cavallaro held pace over Martin and Bolger, who finished behind him on the podium in second and third.
After his motor expired in practice, Jake Vanada used a borrowed ride from Colton Teague and the Campbell family to score a fourth-place finish, while Ethan Heilborn was fifth at the finish. DJ Thibeault, Dane Saritelli, Amy Helger, Mike Duarte and Darryl Church finished out the top-10.
The Sport Trucks will be back on track on Saturday, May 10, for round one of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series, a 35-lap feature. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest news and updates.
