NEWCOMB HOLDS OFF PARSONS TO CAPTURE $2,000 NICK LASCUOLA RACING SUMMER SHOWDOWN

SEEKONK, Mass. — Alongside the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and Granite State Pro Stock Series, the Seekonk Speedway Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars raced for the big cash on Wednesday night.

In the annual Nick Lascuola Racing Summer Showdown - a 35-lap, $2,000 to win special - it came right down to the final laps to decide the winner.

The Legends ran after the Whelen Modified Tour, throwing a curveball into the setups under the hood. In the end, the race went green the entire 35 laps without a yellow flag. Isaiah Newcomb started near the front, took the lead early and never gave it up. Newcomb captured a $2,000 prize with his first victory of the season in the championship points event.

Josh Parsons, running a part-time schedule this year, charged his way to the front and tried everything to get around for the lead, but had to settle for second. Ryan Vanasse Jr., the defending winner of the race, crossed third. Brody Wakefield and Brenden LaBelle followed.

The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars will return to the track on Friday, July 10, for another championship points event.
